The Merino bit ?? I think Mitrovic could do wonders for Gayles game if he could get in the team and partner him up top. The big man little man Tosh Keegan type plan. I personally wish Rafa would get over this player exile thing he has. I dont rate many of our players including Mitro, but he should have had the nod more this season especially with Joselu being dreadful.

Needs to go and play next to Colback in the 23s

A bit disheartening?! They’re f***ing outrageous! I’m now starting to see why so many people give our fans grief for being thick and having unrealistic expectations. Some of the comments directed at Rafa are an absolute embarrassment. Problem is, views like this make it appear that Benitez is infallible. He's making plenty of decisions that several disagree with. Loads of daft selections, subs, transfers. I get that he isn't being given a suitable budget to work with, but he has cocked up a lot this year. Its so infuriating to think that some on here and our fans think that if you criticise Rafa its out of order. Rafa has f***ed up on many many occasions and if Pardew,Carver or Mclown done the same they would be absolutely lambasted for it. Rafa is not beyond criticism at all and I know he hasn't had a budget to work with but his signings have been f***ing woeful as a whole and his tactics and subs usage at times has been staggering who would have done better for us? This response sums things up exactly how I feel. Your speaking as if he is the best thing since sliced bread are you telling me there is absolutely no managers who could have done any better or made any different decisions to him. If you think that then youre nuts. Im not saying id want Rafa sacked but hes made some absolute s*** decisions. Has Sean Dyche had things better to work with in the championship and the prem league id say not yet hes doing a fantastic job at Burnley with what he has Burnley finished 16th last season in their first season back in the PL. We're above 16th right now. Who's to say that this time next year if we stay up we can't be doing what Burnley are doing this season? Hindsight, prediction, alternative thinking is very much unacceptable on here.

I didnt notice it earlier as my feed wasn't great quality, but as above, Merino was lazy and left Hazard time and time again for some other poor fucker to have, or in the goals case not have. Ritchie got a pasting erlier, but three mistakes three different players. First goal Merino leaving, actually giving up on hazard. Second, Mbemba being ridiculous and an utter whimp. Third, Ritchie not understanding the role he was given. -

Depends who the alternative is Well today it was Mo Diame. Next week it could be Hayden, the week after Colback if he licks Rafas arse. Really shouldnt be sat on the bench for the amount of time he has been. What has he done largely to upset Rafa. -

Team selection was working great for a while, arguably should have been level at HT. Team has become knackered in the 2nd half. What were you expecting away to Chelsea? Give over man will you - I expect a team to at least be competitive and give it a go. It’s chelsea let’s just lie down and get our tummies tickled. That team is woeful and continuously playing players who have been total shit over a number of games is not helping. Formations and selections, over late subs, these are all exempt from critique. I just blame Ritchie for playing Left-wing back. Its easier. -

Shite formation, Shite selection. A lad who has pretty much played Right midfield since joining thrown into a back 5 at left-wing back. And hes been thrown to the wolves. -

Go away score, sit back, fold. That mucking around on the right between Mbemba Manquillo and Murphy was ridiculous. Looked to be doing well only to overplay and leave Manquillo with the decision to cross and get it nowhere for a quick Chelsea break that took all of 11 seconds to create a chance at the other end. They are set up to break quick. We on the other hand haven't a clue. -

If you go back through each season's top scorers that's what I would call hindsight. People saying you cant get value on strikers? Im saying every season someone has with an average bum up front. Its not impossible. In January, when you're desperate for a striker. Yeah, ok then. Let's hear your examples of January signings (strikers) on a budget who have gone on to score 10 that season. Oh, let's not forget it's only this season where players are worth 5 times more than they were last season. Using Vardy as an example FFS. I was not really trying to go out if my way to name or prove anything. I was getting frustrated with the new fashion of predicted goal ratios a striker gets based on his price. There will be no facts that can prove a striker under 20m will not deliver. More so just assumptions. -
Ive only just realised his first match is aginst his old club Palace fans will have some nice words for him hopefully

Why is this fraudster making attacking football claims? The same guy who wanted to turn the most skilled footballer in our history into a left back?

Its not hindsight, its just good scouting and taking chances. Go back through each seasons top scorers, theres a buch of cloggers every season getting over 10 goals. Im sure its achievable without needing to compare it to an Ashley model. Until we get taken over and we are run like Man City we cant walk around with our heads in the clouds, its just pointless. -

That Richarlson as you say. He's one there though, and in a side that isnt extreme? Its possible. Also if you are afraid to take risks loans or look for out of contracts and offer higher signing on fees and wages, there are options out there. I spoke to a chap today whos wife is from Huddersfield knows the club well, he said theres no way we would struggle to compete financially with them. So im guessing Rafa is just sounding off again in the media to wind up fat man. Yeah he is but I mean thats one and its not common for it to happen. Pay peanuts get monkeys basically. They stuck gold with him but I doubt we would have even paid his transfer fee at 11.2m, and thats discounting wages. Troy Deeny is on 100k a week at watford I wouldnt say its rare. I think it probably happens once a season at least. That Troy Deeney bit, im not buying that. No chance he is on 100k Genuinely couldn't believe it myself but: http://sillyseason.com/salary/watford-fc-players-salaries-101455/ http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/news/15100638.Highest_paid_Watford_player_earns_as_much_as_Harry_Kane_or_Jamie_Vardy/ https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/2835441/premier-league-player-wages-manchester-united-chelsea-arsenal-spending/ I knew it would be that link, but seriously look at ours: http://sillyseason.com/salary/newcastle-united-players-salaries-99593/ Jonjo Shelvey came here to earn 25k a week? That site are talking shite. And Joselu is on 50k Merino only 20k. I read in the telegraph Deeney agreed to double his 25k a week wages to 50k. Im not arguing you are right or wrong, but the info is really in the clubs books, papers sites etc speculation on what a lad earns are far fetched. I looked at last seasons top scorers, there are some right bums in there hitting over 10 goals. Vokes 19th highest scored 10. Josh king did alright. -

Insightful stuff! You ok Hun? 20m in this transfer window, in Jan, for this squad. The current rate players are going for, double that and clubs reluctant to sell. We need a 15 goal st, a number 10 and a LB. We wont get anywhere near that for that money I get what you're saying but there are clubs looking to offload players for match fitness etc. Again, I point to Ings - he might turn out to be shit but from what's being reported he's available for loan, and even with one leg he's better than Joselu. If Rafa is drawing up a list, which he says he is, you can take it from that there are players available. January is the last opportunity for teams to cash in on players who are out of contract in the summer as well. There's always something that can be done but I agree with you, we're unlikely to sign a world beater for £20m. That said, Mahrez only cost Leicester £500k. Thats interesting. We both named players that cost fuck all and both have premier league winners medals. And another Kante think they paid 4m. Its about good scouting and giving players a chance. The same group who nearly got relegated would have totally devalued and then ran amock the following season, Pumping their values through the roof. If this market is out of control its because teams are stupid enough to allow it. There will come a moment where teams all have 35 players out on loan like Chelsea, because nobody will be ripped off for overinflated agent fees, transfer fees, and wages. -
