Going purely from the only time I've seen him play this season, Saivet was head and shoulders above the man he replaced at Doncaster (Colback). On that performance alone, he's definitely good enough for the bench. He complimented Shelvey really well in that 2nd half.

Since he's been in the league, Aguero has taught us that when fit he's the first name in your fantasy team. Whatever the price tag.

Yeah Chester is quality. Fantastic signing for any Championship club.

Brendan Galloway joins new club - West Bromwich Albion

Explain that to the 4 full backs in the squad already. We should stay in this division just so Dummett et al. can feel happy they've played plenty of games? -

Literally can't get my head around people not thinking loans are a good idea. It's a win/win/win. -
There was clearly a very good player in there. Particularly when played in behind the striker. I always felt he improved us when he was in the side but once you fell out of favour with The King you had next to no chance.

It's not like that was Dummett's first poor game. Now we're the big dogs we will more often than not need to go out and break teams down and that is made far more difficult with a full back who has extremely limited ability on the ball. -
It's beyond a joke now. Well it has been for ages but we have a world class coach now and he still stinks up the middle of the park. Honestly would you pick him if you managed a squad in league 2? No course not, so why has he been continually selected in the prem & now championship? Why FFS? Fuck you Pardew. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He's as Irish as Ritchie is Scottish.

David `Burnsy` Burns. Giant bell end. He's no more clued up than you or I.

No one's writing him off. Merely stating the obvious that he was garbage at Villa. Here's hoping he'll improve in a better set up.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

9. Sheff Wednesday & Leeds have done some good business. -
Options to buy at the end of loans are always preferable but we shouldn't rule out a straight loan deal. If the lad bagged 25 goals, got us promoted and then pissed off back to Real's B team the loan has served it's purpose.

Baffling signing really, he has without doubt been one of the worst defenders in the PL for the last few years. Would personally rather have one of our youngsters gaining experience as 4th choice than Clark. Being versatile is not really a plus when you're crap in each position. I think that's more down to the fact they are struggling to get 11 men out on the pitch at the minute. My office is full of them and they spent most of last season moaning about him.

Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

He played behind the striker all of last season. If Rafa can unlock the player from 2/3 years ago and play him in the middle of the park it will be a great signing. If we get the player that has been coasting through games and is accused of being lazy and ineffective by the Hull fans he will most likely spend a lot of time on the bench. I certainly trust Benitez to get a hell of a lot more out of him than Bruce ever did.

All 4 that played centre half tonight were excellent. Good to see Dummett in there, hopefully a sign of things to come. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Shelvey was excellent 2nd half. As he should be against league 2 opposition. It's clearly all mental with him, if he wants it enough and is motivated by Rafa he will be the best midfielder in the championship. If not which is often the case, he'll waste his talent and find himself sat on our bench again. It was almost as if having his ginger ball and chain removed at half time liberated him. Firstly Hayden & then Saivet won the ball well and moved it on quickly allowing him to dictate the game and start our attacks. Compare those two to Colback and his slow motion first touch(es) and sideways passing and it makes a huge difference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The problem is, no one in their right minds would take him off our hands as they'll be lumbered with the same problem. He'll more than likely see out his contract making 3 appearances off the bench every 4 months.

England: Burn and Gordon named in latest squad (Official)
Budgie Smuggler replied to Nobody's topic in Football
Don't get the hate for Wilshere's selection. By the time the tournament starts he'll have been back in full training for 2 months with 5/6 games under his belt. He's comfortably good enough on ability so if anything, he'll be coming into the tournament nice & fresh. If he gets injured he gets injured, that's what a 23 man squad is for. -
Shelvey basically has no defense. Those who think Shelvey and Saivet could make a good partnership and bring us better results need to realize this hugely depends on how many goals we can score because now the protection for our back four is non existent. Compared to the brick wall that is Colback & Anita?

Mark Noble would run him close.
