    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Just because he's a goalkeeper. If he was a right back rather than a goalkeeper then I'd be fine. I have no objection to the first name/last name situation you propose. Other one is silly names like butt. Hate it when we are linked with someone with a silly sounding name.

It's his name. He's got the same last name as a former outfield player of ours. That's it. If he was Mark Gervais or Mark Wheatley or Mark Harper or even Mark Anythingbaroneofourformeroutfieldplayers I wouldn't dislike him so much. Well, unless it was double barreled, then he can fuck right off. I can't help it, it's just an irrational pet hate of mine.

Pisses me off this like, he's my second most disliked keeper after rob elliot.

We really needed a signing to bolster our squad and we were being gazumped left right and centre, so we signed a good player from Forest on the grounds he'd been good at Forest. He comes into our team and he isn't able to slot straight in due to the different nature of our play. Eddie has said so many times that we haven't been able to train as we would like due to number of matches, so I would like to think it's fair to say that if he had come in during a non-European season he would stand a better chance with us. I have faith he'll come good.

And penguins don't fall over watching helicopters. They don't need to, as they all get the latest transfer information right here on NO's plane spotting thread! But in seriousness, I'm not feeling worried about this window, even if we don't get anyone.
  6. The Good (best at #1) 1) KK - Legendary and was our manager just as I started getting into football. 2) EH - Got me believing again, excellent coach, well spoken, won us a cup and is making us a force again. Want him to be our ferguson, but more pleasant. Great appointment for the new regime. I trust him with my club entirely, even if his "Eddie Time" subs are a tad predictable. 3) SBR - Loved we had such a classy football gentleman who had ties to the club too. Did have glaring weak spots in some of his signings, but I still love him. 4) RB - Much like Eddie, got me to start hoping again. Became a great link to the fans which had been eroded by the shit ownership for years. Did very well with what he had. 5) GR - I liked him. Did well for us in Europe and he did love the club. Nothing spectacular. 6) CH - Did alright and didn't back down in the face of shitty ownership. Replaced by a cretinous toady. 7) OA - Putting Ossie in simply for the training story that Steve Howey tells about him and needed to try and balance out my list. The Bad (worst at #1) 1) sb - slum landlord with creepy ties to the media and a bag full of excuses should never ever have been anywhere near our club. Hate everything about him, from his made up lies, rewriting of history, wanker no-mark of a son, lack of tactical ability. Funny how such a "great manager" is never linked seriously to his beloved man u by his press chums when their manager slot becomes vacant. 2) ap - smarmy, deceitful, mike ashley puppet who only did well in his first season because of inheriting a CH team. Absolutely the catalyst for dragging down our hopes and dreams of being anything other than a team of also rans. It's only because sb got hired by the fat cockney wanker that he isn't top of my hated list. How many managers inspire a website dedicated to their sacking? 3) gs - what the fuck was Sheppard thinking? Mediocre at his very best at any club he managed, questionable character who dined out on his Liverpool playing days. Signing Boumsong seemed iffy. Never liked him, inappropriate to hire him. Also, the ALi Dia story at Soton should be talked about way more than it is. 4) sa - never liked him, even when I heard his name before even his Bolton days. Another shit Sheppard hire. 5) s mc - I really hoped we would dodge this bullet but it seemed Lee Ryder was insistent that he was def going to be our next manager. Apparently graham carr really wanted him. Never liked the ferguson arselicker who fleeced us money-wise by making us pay compensation to derby and then wouldn't fuck off before Rafa came in, dragging his heels so he'd get paid off. Another who should never been anywhere near this club, only good thing he did was getting rid of the accomplices of the next fuckwit next on my list... 6) jc- Fucking pardew lickspittle and fake letter writing "best coach in the league". Wasn't qualified to put cones out, never mind manage a premier league club. 7) RG - Should have been a great appointment. It wasn't. Treatment of Rob Lee and selling Steve Watson to Everton were particularly unpalatable, never mind the derby loss. Funnily enough I predicted he would blame Shearer and Ferguson coming on for us losing and couldn't believe it when he actually did. Had no feeling for the club. A shame. 8) KD - I get it, guy who pretty much replaced KK at Liverpool as a player and did ok as Liverpool manager should be a great appointment. High profile for sure. Bafflingly seemed to want to replace every player in our squad with left backs.
  7. Modern day Steve Watson maybe? How's his somersault throw ins?
  8. I was thinking of Leroy Rosenior when this news broke and I'd just misremembered his name. Apparently he had a son who has had a playing career prior to stepping into management in the last few years. This entirely passed me by.
  9. Favourite Match: The final Favourite Goal: BDB header in said final Favourite Moment: winning the final, has to be. Favourite Player: BDB Any other favourite memories: Eddie meeting the old lady fan. Amazing feeling of connection with the club with stuff like that.

I think they always had amusing names, Napoleon made them do a census or something where it looked like they were taking the piss with fake names.

Hate that he doesn't have an H at the end of his name. I felt exactly the same about Kennet Anderson. Really bothered me
  12. Took me ages to work out you meant White Hart (as in White Hart Lane) rather than West Ham, who I am fairly certain he never played for. I am clearly having one of those mornings

    Lewis Hall

I think this, as well as the height, but it's hard to lead when you're getting shredded in a position you're no longer cut out for.

    Jacob Ramsey

Was more a tongue in cheek post aiming to have a pop at coldplay, his injury record was just the vehicle for it. Although I don't feel bad as it prompted a proper question and discussion point from you, from which I'm more likely to learn from than my shite post

I come in to see if this lad still isn't playing for us like he didn't for his last club and get met with discussions on a group of shitty whiny wankers who sing about an old phonebook. Urgh.
  16. Or they set everyone at the level of the club with the lowest amount.
  17. Just saw Chris Wilder reappointed at Sheff Utd. Called it. Not that everyone couldn't see it happening a mile off.

Yeah, it's daft and should be unnecessary in this day and age but this. I don't know if in German football it's culturally pressured too. I know their LGBT+ rights are really good in Germany but I don't know if that's echoed in the terraces over there.

I saw that very well executed drop toe hold to Dan Burn like. Sorry, totally off topic

I was asked the other week "who is that lass who talks about football on youtube? Looks like Lucy Letby?"
