  1. Anyone wanting to join the race to sign him wants to get their fucking skates on. If we sell players, I'd like time to actually buy someone.
  2. Stories abound about Jamie Miley going to Harlepool (sorry for the chronicle link) https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-set-say-emotional-30879343

I'd be more hyped to see both Murphy brothers on the pitch than the Ameobis that's for sure

Worth bringing his brother in as cover?

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Anything where things are "moving closer" or "in talks" is just bullshit. Nothing is happening, in or out. Source: gut feeling* *gut feeling is subject to change
  6. Three day rule. Over three days since this broke and no movement? It's not happening.
  7. The rules do seem to really do the dirty on players approaching/past 30 years old. I know it's not direct discrimination but it is affecting their potential transfers thus stifling them in favour of younger players. And even without the protected characteristic of age being brought into the question, it has a monetary consideration; they won't be as able to capitalise on a good contract, their agents won't be able to command their stupid fees (which should be paid by the player not the club, but that's another rant) which is going to cause upset and if the money isn't there then there will be almighty kick offs. It also stifles grass roots as the only way any footballer is going to be signed by a club in a higher division is if he's 18 and already a Messi regen. I don't think there shouldn't be rules in place, but ones that stop teams who want to compete so that certain teams stay at the top unchallenged is just bullshit. If your Red Cartel cuck teams don't want to compete and just make up the numbers then fine, but don't vote in rules that stop others challenging the status quo.
  8. Run in with a chair? BUT WHO IS HE HERE FOR?!?!?

I reckon Nickson was there as a smokescreen to hide our real target.
  11. Aye, I don't buy it either. Wouldn't that really fuck over the morale of the squad if you're keeping someone out of the team who is on double your wages? I don't believe the Targett or the Kelly wage claims.

Maybe PSR is for our own good as fans? Wait, wait, hear me out. We have had 15 years of drab misery crushed under the oppressive fat of that corpulent leech. We had very little to look forward to and that has seeped deep into each and every one of us. Now, if we were allowed to have a sudden burst of excitement that might be catastrophic for us. It would like be taking a shedload of molly all at once when you've been straight edge and miserable for years. The PL are being incredibly responsible. I mean, not really. They're just corrupt arseholes but it wouldn't suprise me if they came out with this as an excuse to keep us in a stranglehold whilst their darlings spend what they like.

So this Kelleher is essentially Liverpool's 3rd choice keeper (bearing in mind the keeper they have out on loan)? I can't think of a time that us signing Liverpool's 3rd choice keeper has ever been a disaster...
  14. I watched those arsenal fan reactions and I have to wonder who watches these. They have nothing about them. No excitement, no passion, no insight, no personality. It's just some random dull bloke in his bedroom saying player names and then "fuck off" when it goes against them. I did see a couple of our lot and felt the same way like. But sod the negativity, that was a beautiful match to watch. I loved that!

  16. I was recommended The Dolphin from someone on here when I was down in London for work and every time I'm down there I always pop in for a pint. Fantastic pub.

I reckon this barely strengthening thing is a ruse. Eddie does get sly little points in press conferences that we have to compete within PSR without sounding negative about it. Eventually that will pay off as others notice. We are playing the long game with the goal of us having a better range of spending options. Obvs just my opinion. I do want to get excited about us signing a new player though so I do wish they'd hurry up

I reckon we spurge a ton of moolah on about 7 players after agreeing a £60 billion bootlace sponsorship.

Once you get to a certain level of money though, wouldn't you just do what you love? Even if it meant taking a massive paycut? I mean, it obviously depends on the individual but I know if I was a millionaire then I'd happily take a paycut to do stuff I enjoy doing because I had the means to do so. I'd be enjoying myself and easily supporting myself because of the work I'd put in previously.
  20. It's been longer than a decade. We haven't had a decent academy at any point in my lifetime. Whilst other clubs seem to churn out prospect after prospect, who have we produced of any first team value? I mean no disrespect to the individuals but players I can remember coming through who have made any impact after Keegan's first reign are negligible. There we had Howey, Lee Clark, Robbie Elliot (the proper one, not the shit keeper) and Steve Watson. Andy Carroll tops the list but then we have Steven Taylor, Ramage, turncoat shola, Chopra, Huntingdon, Matty Pattison, that midfielder that Gullit loved whose name I've forgotten. And hey, I loved some of these even if they weren't quite good enough. Not shola though, he can just bury himself back in mike ashley's arse. I used to joke that our academy might as well just go to Blyth and Gateshead right now as that's where they all seemed to end up. Do I expect everyone to come out of the academy to be Messi level? Of course not, I don't even expect superstar players but we should have a few competent Premier League level performers regularly being churned out.
  21. I don't want him to go but I accept that's the stupid way of the Premier League atm. I do wish he hadn't been made special blackboard monitor captain (or whatever) though, we just seem to have nosedived a bit since that's happened. It seems the team spirit has dropped off since that time too and I'm not sure if that's coincidence or a factor in our form.

Wasn't religion kind of brought about to make people do sensible things? In this example; lust is bad and you'll go to hell when what they wanted to say and mean is "stop sleeping around to spread STDs". People aren't going to listen though enmasse unless you have some reason for them to. Your soul will be tormented in hell was seen as a pretty hefty deterrent (even if it couldn't be 100% effective). There's a good reason about folks in the middle east not eating pork too and it's entirely based in practicality. Source for this IIRC was a cracked.com article years ago. The problem comes about when someone with selfish and/or misplaced thoughts gets into a spot of religious power who then wants to interpret the teachings in their own way for the benefit of themselves and whatever bigoted belief they wish to make the people live by. The people then trot it out, ahem, religiously.
  23. I was talking to someone on Saturday about this very expression and that he discovered that when someone at his work said a task would be done "manyana" that it it didn't mean "tomorrow", it just meant "not today". Odd coincidence.
  24. Are we allowed to do the shield again or are there rules against it? I loved it. Years are passing far too quickly for my liking though.
  25. It wasn't that long ago, surely?
