  1. I've always reckoned the league fixtures were fixed, I'm now thinking the cup draws might be too. -OR- All football is predetermined for storyline purposes.
  2. Weird when I saw the Blackburn team sheet, I thought I was back in the 90's with some of the names. Really shit game, we seemed to completely lack that spark. We have for a while now but I thought it might be the ideal opportunity to clear the cobwebs and get our mojo back. I reckon there is something off behind the scenes like, the spirit doesn't seem to be as strong. I hope we overcome it as am enjoying the ride and want the players to continue to enjoy playing for us too. Credit to Blackburn like, they did a great job.
  3. Half term mate. Probably been banned from minecraft so getting their entertainment here.
  4. That is a valid point I was looking through case law and statutes without that even occurring to me. Thank you
  5. Been doing some digging on whether we can hire a replacement when someone is put on gardening leave. Couldn't find any case law, but I could see that hiring replacement workers due to an industrial dispute (a strike) is perfectly legal as the employer is entitled to keep their business operational. As gardening leave is a form of industrial dispute, I surmise that we could get a replacement in. I just can't find anything concrete so far without asking someone with legal expertise with direct experience of this happening. As an aside, I hope we rinse the red mancs for millions for doing this. Wish they'd just piss off and be content being a mid table club for a few years, they've had their glory time.
  6. When I was younger I always thought that the higher you get in the league, the less you should be able to spend on players. Not sure I agree with that now.
  7. I don't want him to go. He's part of OUR long term project, not fucking man u's.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Indeed, that's why I was wondering what folks thought his valuation would be. Just curiosity more than anything, regardless of whether anyone paid it. Not trying to be funny or awkward, I am getting my love for football back after the dark years and I'm trying to fill in the gaps in my knowledge by asking the more well informed folks (like yourself) a hypothetical.

Is he not? Well blow me over with a wafted dishcloth, I didn't realise. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

If Joelinton was a man u player, what do you think they'd want for him in transfer fees? IIRC they rated the Scottish footballer at £50 million.
  11. Yeah, what a classy post match interview that was from Emery.
  12. I reckon Klopp is full of shit. He's working everyone, it will gee up the players and supporters to put in herculean efforts to win every game. If it pays off then he will announce he was joking and what a masterstroke it was, if they don't win the league then he will leave. In a couple of years sam allerdyce will say he told him to do it.

If Lascelles and Trippier do get sold, who would we give the captaincy to?

Shit, I didn't know Martin Fulop had passed.

Something just occurred to me about this lot; they seem to have a history of signing the shit brother of good players. Jobe Bellingham, Anton Ferdinand, Lee Howey...

    Jeff Hendrick

He must feel pretty shit like, completely fucking up two clubs potential progression. Thing is though, after he eventually gets released he wont be able to make anywhere near the money he'll be on atm so I get why he won't just negotiate a mutual termination. Bit shit all round with this. I did get flashbacks to Benito Carbone with those pictures on that link though. Just the hair like, not the ability.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Was just listening to a NUFC youtube channel and one of the listeners commented that the revolving door at Newcastle seems to be only going in one direction. Well, yeah, that's how revolving doors work.

    St James' Park

Beamish has done the brick by brick thing on several occasions. No idea what the full story is here, I just thought I'd pop in with a bit of brick by brick trivia. Edit: read the previous pages to catch up. I was clearly just too excited to share what I learned on a school trip once.
  19. Loved watching that. I thought it was a nice proper throw back to football. Ref did well IMO.
  20. That mackem right back who got a yellow is totally the spotty kid who works in Kristy Burger in The Simpsons. <High pitched wavery voice>: "I don't care if you book me, I can nearly grow a mustache"
  21. Just by who I always used to sign on Football Manager waayyyyy back when, Henri Saivet. Was this great forward player before we bought him, by which time he was a defensive mid who had one good game at Everton, got dropped and was barely heard from again.
  22. I pretty much only watch the Eddie press conferences and The Toon Review. It's grown on me a fair bit but there are parts that properly bring out the petty rage in me A shitty dance track intro for a minute, and then another (albeit very good) intro. Only 1 of the 3 is a Geordie (but I do enjoy the other two's input), fans can pay for a "Superchat" that gets read out straight away but all the host then says is "indeed" after each one. I've never understood the point of this. The interplay between them is good though, the stats part is educational and informative and the watch along commentary is good. I put that on if I can't watch the match but have access to YT so I can hear what's going on. The host Geordie holds the comms together really well I feel. Their backgrounds and presentation look professional enough and the absolute disdain for steve bruce is a bonus.
  23. Maybe this is a work, much like the loaning of Saudi based players nonsense?
