Lee Ryder is just preparing to tweet that there's nothing in it any time now. "According to my club sources at the club who have told me, there's nothing concrete in the Johnson case about Johnson right now" lol outstanding! Another quick question, are any of our forum legally qualified? Been reading some of the explanations given to questions on here and it's been rather enlightening, with some really good answers. Not sure any of this board are legally qualified but they could have done a better job than Johnson's legal team Ha, could well be true but he hasn't given them much to work with. I think when it gets to such a point as this then the legal team have to just hold his hand and make sure the law is followed correctly and fairly. The board who governs ethics for lawyers would come down on them quite harshly if Johnson has admitted guilt to them and they attempted to get him off. That's different from putting out a defence for his actions though.

Are the chronicle not allowed to talk about the Johnson story? Just had a quick look and couldn't see any updates from them about the case. Plenty of nothing stories about their keeper and upcoming refs etc though

Just wondering, since RTG have banned mention of it, do you think their posters are reading this instead? Has there been an influx of new members requests that are suspiciously mackemesque?

That's more for civil cases. In criminal trials it's beyond all reasonable doubt.

    Lee Charnley

There's not much in that other than charnley will address stuff at the fan forum. Interesting to see what comes out of it though. Although I hate the way they totally seem to tie the hands (or indeed tongues) of those wanting to ask questions. And the way they dodge answering questions is just so slimy (an example being the "what have you learnt? type question at the last one that they bottled out of). Newcastle United ’s hierarchy will make their first public statement on their January transfer business and the club’s current situation at the Fans Forum later this month. The club have informed fan representatives that the second meeting of the season will be on February 22, during United’s enforced 18-day break. The agenda is set by supporters but it is anticipated that the club’s business in January, the threat of relegation and Steve McClaren will be among the questions the club will be set. Managing director Lee Charnley will lead the club’s delegation. Charnley and United have issued a number of statements to supporters this season but the last of his open letters was on September 25. The club’s last Fans Forum was on October 21, where Newcastle admitted they were disappointed by the start to the campaign but pledged to invest more in the squad. Back in September, Charnley wrote in a wide-ranging email: “We made a pledge to communicate more effectively with you and when we did so, we were aware this must be the case through thick and thin, in the bad times as well as the good.” The club are inviting fans to contact one of the 15 Forum members if they have an issue they want raised at this month’s meeting.

    Steve McClaren

I don't hate him, I certainly didn't want him as our manager but his effect on buying players is there imo. no, we are far from perfect but his place on the board seems to be a useful thing. So, why not have him stay on the board as a footballing presence (moncur can f*ck right off) who can back up the manager on buying players for football reasons, not sell on value. Id rather the entire board f*cked off, but using what we have currently...
  8. I totally get what he's saying with regards to too many players. That makes sense to me in normal circumstances. However, we're way past normal circumstances and I'm happy that so many signing have been made. Would like a defender or two though.
  9. I would not mind at all if Ashley had come in and run the club as a sustainable business. For me, it's all the other dreadful decisions made. Hiring cretins like wise and kinnear, the stadium name change, hiring pardew and not getting shot when he really needed to go, dampening expectations, banning any media who question his ways, hiring charnley who then thought carver was an acceptable choice to manage us, allowing charnley to hire mcclaren rather than going for someone more likely to excite the fans and motivate the team, anything to do with press woman wendy, making bob moncur kiss his arse on a regular basis and loads of other things I have missed. If he had appointed acceptably qualified people to the correct posts and communicated with fans on the true reality of expectation etc (and he did communicate, he used to go into pubs and drink with fans) then this level of apathy, almost hatred, wouldn't be here. Or might not nearly be as bad. If he started making good calls on hiring the right people and didn't make every decision seemingly on how to really p*ss off the entire fan base then he could have been really well thought of. He can still turn this around and start doing it, but the question is will he?
  10. Worth resetting the poll to see how many more signing we will make this window?

I remember at school he was meant to be hilarious and all my mates went on about him. Watched one of his videos and just thought "this isn't funny". I know some comedy works for some and not for others, this guy didn't do anything for me. Although I did like him as the Mayor in League of Gentlemen.
  12. Would be soooo mint! Give width and end product. Absolutely. Need to bolster the back four and this would be an inspired signing.
  13. Nah, I'm guessing from the writing style that it's ToonFan1950 and he isn't a pardew fan. Bloody odd comment to make about colback like.
  14. Can't shake this nagging feeling they'll play him wide right.
  15. Its weird how we all think he plays in different positions like. Like a load of folk describing seeing a yeti and everyone describing him slightly differently. In my mind I'm thinking he's a right winger for what its worth.

    Loïc Remy

I agree with this and it makes me think that based on previous years/decades, how is it that our academy lot will never make a first team league appearance and drop down the leagues, have unsuccessful trials at Darlington and end up playing for pub teams? People mention not breaking into the manu or Chelsea first teams, but our lads seem to nosedive very quickly, without even a look in at the championship never mind the premier league. I realise this has somewhat derailed the Remy thread.
  17. I have thought the same thing for some time now. It's hard to describe as all he is doing is reporting what he finds out, but there's just something about how he does it that gives me this impression. I've thought the same, prob because its the only genuine info he gets Haha yeah. I'm thinking because the club likes to torment us by saying which good players we wont be going for. Instead I look forward to them putting in a last minute bid for Didier Baptiste of Harchester United, or some other fictional/unknown player and still not manage to sign them. Because they are either fictional or haven't really seriously tried.

Nah. I'd have to say "yes", but not to be contrary. It's just he wasn't a right winger and so in my OCD mind he should not wear 7. I think 8 would have been the better number for him. On an aside but still regarding my pet hate of wrong squad numbers, the only thing alladyce did that I really agreed with was that he gave Harper 13, which I think sub keepers should have.

  20. I'm out. Doesn't matter if she's a looker, it would be like Foley's daughter. You'd just never stop thinking who her dad is.

7 is right, 11 is left. I don't mind if a CF wears 8 and a CM wears 10. Beardsley and Clark wore 8 and 10 respectively.
