Grew up just watching Alan Shearer goals on repeat, wanted to emulate his style of play, and so just got into a habit of watching Newcastle games. Then at 15, first time I got snuck into a pub with some older mates, Newcastle vs Spurs when, Robert got a brace and got suckered right in there.

Getting rid of Lascelles at the moment would make no sense, finding a better player to sit on the bench, while also providing the leadership he has. As far as the wolves interest goes, adding some proper leadership to their dressing room right now would massive and could be the difference between relegation and survival

Can't watch the game and this thread is a roller coaster, are we no longer shit?

I think by the time the season is done we will miss out on top 4, and there will be elements calling it a go failure that Howe needs to answer for. But we lack the depth to properly go for it, couple of injuries in the midfield or defense and we will see the drop in quality in the squad again. Making Europe at any level will be brilliant though, increased quality of sponsors that will jump on the bandwagon, more appeal for players to join us. The club will be aware that the squad will need alot of improvement to compete ok all fronts and I feel will go through with it as well. It's really such an exciting time for the club.

Such right fixture congestion this week, playing a full strength yeah 3 times in a row would burn players out but next weekend. I'm alright with dropping out of the FA cup so we can focus on the remaining 2 competitions. We just don't have the depth in the squad yet to focus on all fronts, and if we get Europe next year this can be shown as an example why we need more quality bodies in.

I know it's still early days, but 2 points between 13th and 18th, going to be some nervous clubs and I'm glad we're not one of them

Imagine being told 18 months ago a team with Willock, Longstaff, Joelinton, Miggy, Pope, Burn and Wood would be sitting 2nd on the table.
-
Watching Miggy's goal, as Bruno crosses the ball, Trippier is pointing for Miggy to get on his bike and go, before he's even controlled the ball. There's just that natural intelligence to know what to do next and start that movement off, such a class player
-
I keep thinking this purple patch of his will end, but just looking at his movement and touch, this isn't just a bit of luck for him, having players that can play to his strengths like Bruno makes such a difference. Absolutely love him and his enthusiasm

If we were sitting 7th-10th I think I'd be ok with a few future prospects, sitting in 3rd with a chance to get into the top 4 this year, I think it would be daft not to try and make a proper go for it with 1 or 2 statement signings.

Going to be hard to ever top that for a world cup final
-
As a neutral, couldn't ask for a better game
-
France look like don't know what they should be doing this game
-
Argentinas a joy to watch
-
And equally as many where he's had a heart attack and died, lucky bastards
-
Supposedly prem clubs were looking last year before he tore his ACL. Crazy to think he's on played a handful of games since returning from injury
-
Can't see us recovering from 2 down. Was nice hoping while it lasted
-
Even if we go out at this point, I feel like we've made a good effort of the tournament, I'm hoping though final 30 we bring on kuol with a but of energy to try and run at them a bit
-
Well that was bound to happen, to thought we had been playing well so far
-
If they’re going to just keep on expanding the format, may as well scrap qualifiers and invite every country to it and then just do the whole thing as a giant knock out tournament
-
Cautious attitude has always been a thing with tournament football, if you're still in the competition you can still win it. Gambling with attacking football is too risky. Plus with players not given a chance to build chemistry in the team, club football will nearly always be better to watch, while international football is meant to pull on the emotions
-
If we can get another Redmayne special against Argentina, it may just be the greatest footballing memory ever. I think we will get done by them, but I don't think it's going to be a blowout like many think, I'm expecting 1-0, with kuol on for the end of the game trying to chase a goal.
