  1. Simons is one of the biggest ‘not suited at all to this league’ signings I’ve seen for ages. He looks like a rabbit caught in headlights on the ball.
  2. Painful to watch Tottenham this game tbh, just tactically really overwhelmed.
  3. Spurs look like such a plodding side, real lack of quality in every area.
  4. Real gutsy performance that. Thiaw’s inch-perfect challenge 1-1 with Haaland a highlight.
  5. We’re desperate for more guile in this team. A player to get on the ball and offer creative output instead of just physical attributes.
  6. The plan B is just throw 3-4 players on at the same time and see what happens.
  7. It’s the same flavour of performance week in week out in the league. I don’t know what the answer is but we’re drifting listlessly here.
  8. He’s so good at anticipating where the ball may drop or how the attacking pattern of play may develop. Even more impressive is how he never shows complacency, even when an attack may be fizzling out, he’s there anyway.
  9. His best moments are when he traps the ball and feeds an overlapping runner to beat the press, in practically the same, fluid movement. It’s something as a team we need to engineer better patterns of play to anticipate. The CB on the ball perhaps needs to look for him straight away. I’m looking forward to seeing his interplay with Wissa, whenever that time comes.
  10. A good win, another great European night for the club, but without being too negative, a better team would have took advantage of our carelessness in possession last night. Overall, we were the better side, particularly second half, and well worth the win.
  11. Very easy to get through Real’s midfield.
  12. It will actually in a way be really annoying if we substantially raise our game mid-week again, because to me, that’s indicative of an attitude / motivation problem.
  13. 3 - Tottenham, Burnley and Chelsea. 0 points away from home.
  14. Don’t think I’ve seen us play well domestically all season (10 men against Liverpool aside). The fundamentals aren’t right.
  15. Confess I haven’t bothered to watch them too closely but Mac Allister is getting absolute pelters from Liverpool fans on social media. Guessing he’s been really poor? Strange one as you’d imagine a player like that would be a consistent performer.
  16. Honestly mind-boggling that Slot picked that starting 11 tonight.
  17. Some really good distribution through the middle of the pitch tonight. Gets us going much quicker.
  18. Solid, assured performance. Clean sheet as well. Happy days. Cue getting Man City away.
  19. Fair play, that foul on Kudus was genuinely hilarious.
  20. 3 points, that’ll do. Key thing is just to maintain a run of form, critical few weeks coming up.
  21. I expect it’s a relief for Slot that the selection dilemma has been taken out his hands with Isak being injured until presumably the next international break. Doesn’t bode well for Liverpool that he’s making such silly comments this early in the season.
  22. Amazing news and speaks to his character that he feels he needs to repay the club for his time out.
  23. He seems to really thrive in European games, absolutely dominated the pitch today.
  24. Tremendous viewing that, really stepped it up second-half. Inspired subs by Eddie.
