  1. Henderson wasn’t even bad when he came on. The bigger issue is that the system provided little attacking fluency to our forward players. Mount, Saka and Sterling were all poor to non-existent. Kane did not seem to have a defined position.
  2. Mount seems to take the easy option when receiving the ball every time.
  3. I don’t think Southgate necessarily played for a draw. We just play the exact same way no matter what.
  4. The fact that Southgate just persisted with the exact same system, one that couldn’t reliably beat USA’s press the whole game, is beyond belief.
  5. May not be a realistic move, but Ryan Gravenberch has missed out on the Netherlands World Cup squad after moving to Bayern in the summer and getting limited game-time. Has spoken out publicly before about not being particularly happy how things have been going.
  6. He was poor on the ball last night, but there were many occasions where he was the only outlet trying to break past Palace’s lines either by running in behind or moving into central areas. Wood’s lack of mobility really hurts Maxi’s ability to find pockets of space I think. Anderson also looked quite uncomfortable on the other flank which didn’t help with forming a cohesive attack with the ball.
  7. The Carrasco links are interesting. Doesn’t seem to fit the profile of player we’d be after, but there’s been persistent rumours on a move for him every window since the takeover. Could obviously just be agent-driven mind.
  8. Very poor game overall, but we’re through which is all that matters in the end. Thought Shelvey and Targett looked miles off it tonight.
  9. Should be on loan, looked a bit out of his depth tonight.
  10. Just looking through (realistic) players with contracts ending next summer: Defenders Evan Ndicka (Frankfurt) Luke Shaw (Manchester United) Alejandro Grimaldo (Benfica) Tosin Adarabioyo (Fulham) - club option of additional year Midfielders Youri Tielemans (Leicester) Sergi Canós (Brentford) - Club option of additional year Konrad Laimer (RB Leipzig) Wilfred Zaha (Crystal Palace) Leandro Trossard (Brighton) - Club option of additional year Thomas Lemar (Atletico Madrid) Viktor Tsygankov (Dynamo Kiev) Diachi Kamada (Frankfurt) Houssem Aouar (Lyon) Jefferson Lerma (Bournemouth) Forwards Marcus Thuram (Borussia Mönchengladbach) Ben Brereton Diaz (Blackburn)
  11. I think this is a noteworthy point and will figure prominently in discussions with agents and the players themselves. It would apply either to young prospects like Garang Kuol or to more established talents that haven’t quite settled at a ‘bigger’ club such as Pulisic as an example.
  12. I think we will try for Joao Pedro again. There were also strong rumours of Edson Álvarez at the end of the window, and with Ajax now out of the Champions League, perhaps that may be revisited.
  13. On the first point, there was an interview recently with Saint-Max and he said Willock is the fastest player at the club (apart from himself).
  14. Easy to forget he’s only 23, yet he’s gained so much experience and been involved in so many key moments for us already.
  15. I just can’t see Leicester selling Maddison in January for any price, especially if they’re still towards the bottom of the table.
  16. Added-on time until Liverpool equalize.
  17. If the team stays in such great form, then I think the club will use the funds they had allocated for January into signing more top prospects, rather than first-team signings.
  18. I don’t think he’s ever likely to leave Chelsea, but would love to see Loftus-Cheek under Howe.
  19. Good to read that the club are planning to expand their social media presence imminently with dedicated accounts in Arabic. Important for the club’s continued growth and a bit surprised it’s taken this long.
  20. Given Nickson is supposedly heavily scouting in Brazil, wonder if the extraordinary name could be Endrick.
  21. Still think he would be an asset for us. I think the big issue for Forest is that he’s signed a year deal, so he couldn’t really care less if they go down because he’ll be away anyway. Perhaps that’s reflected in his performances to date.
