Some (these protesting fans, other fans etc) want the Saudis out of the club because they don't want state ownership in football, which is an idea I agree with. State ownership or financial arms of states should not own football clubs, but if they forced the Saudis to sell a la Chelsea then they'd have to force the Emiratis out of Man City also. But that won't change because football has become evermore fucked in more ways than one since 1992 so that this is an issue but we're just happening to benefit from it which is hard to hold against us given the previous 14 years. Defending or deflecting from Saudi on social media though I'll never get on board with. That 'we should improve society somewhat' meme fits perfectly to that. I do however find the sanctimonious nature of people who purely use KSA's record etc as a stick to hit NUFC fans with, Eddie Howe with a tad reprehensible though. That French journalist (can't remember his name) who recently had responded to Howe talking about how he'd rather not harangue officials on the touchline by making it a dig about the owners; our fans get accused of 'whataboutery' quite a lot but that's one of the biggest examples of it I've seen. Delaney is a wanker but he's been consistent and overrall is actually a decent journalist (I recommend his recent piece about Osasuna, good read). Holt is a cunt given the way he's gone on despite his past statements about Hearn & Joshua and state money. Panja lost quite a bit of credibility after he conveniently 'ran out of time' to ask Kylian Mbappe, the face of Qatari owned PSG and the Qatar World Cup, questions about human rights issues which he's consistantly thrown at us and Howe. Lastly, the mackems? Pffft. It's only because its us. If in the near future we're competing with Man City for the title and Man City pipped us to it they'd absolutely revel in it. If we won it though they'd go on and on about KSA and how much of a disgrace we are etc. This is in addition to when in 2012 they celebrated Man City's first title at the Stadium of Shite to wind up Man Utd fans in the away end. Guess UAE human rights problems don't means as much as the ones in KSA over in Sunderland.

5 of those were in the penalty shootout in that grim cup game against Burnley like, but still. Our record of conceding penalties early last season was pathetic. We conceded 5 in the first 11 games last season.

McManaman talking utter shite as per.

Be able to see the goal ~a month before 3rd Round draw day, then! Yay.
-
Chelsea in November 2016 the only time. Have a feeling that Tielemans is going to win goal of the month, though.
-
Could be one of those seasons where they're naff in the league but good in Europe, a la Chelsea in 2011-12, themselves in 2015-16 etc.

Spurs are chronic. 30% possession.

2019-20 and those first few months post Benitez wasn't too bad for me personally because I was a fresher at uni then and most days was just drinking, meeting new people, going out, lasses etc so it was easier to switch off or distance myself from how involved I was when Benitez was here and a ST holder. Still watched 9 games out of 10 mind, wanted us to win, celebrated goals and so on despite knowing that in the bigger picture it was pointless. But lockdown and COVIDball was just depressing, it was a completely different sport altogether. I only ever watched us out of a sense of duty, never big 6 games, no CL, EL. Nowt. It was absolutely shit and its no wonder I don't remember too many games (for someone who can be a bit of an NUFC guru ) unless I'm told specifically about them from that period.

Just been subbed off now with 15 minutes to go. Lively in the first half but faded in the second a bit like Leverkusen themselves in this game tbf. They can't get RO16 and given they only need a point for EL seeing Atleti's result, I can see why. He has age massively on his side which is why I'm not overly fussed about a big fee. We shall see.

Third time asking. Also have a look at this thread, no idea that things were so bad at Wolves.

Christ Almighty. May be wrong but I think he lost loads of weight when he was at Leeds. Piled that back on.
-
Atleti 2-0 down to Porto so as it stands they're out of European football completely. Leverkusen to the Europa League. Doing a bit of #scouting on Diaby. Canny game this tbf.

A couple of them tbf, remember the first game of the season at West Ham, win v Burnley at home, win at Everton and a few more when I think about it. But tbh it's probably for the best that I and everyone else does their hardest to forget that period. March 2020-June 2021 was nowt but an absolutely depressing part of my and most people's lives and the football was barely football in my eyes. It was soulless, monotonous bilge and Bruceball and Bruce himself were nauseating.
-
I was only 12 funnily enough also the last time we were in Europe. Too young for aways but got to all group and knockout home games. The Anzhi and Benfica atmospheres have stuck with me tbf.
-
Agree tbf. Good thing he's out of this one for them.

The trend of replacing the first letter of players'/managers'/anyone's forename and surname with the letter P. Pason Pount, Pivan Poney, Perik Pen Pag. And myself for almost always finding it amusing. Ffs.

The last time we beat them at home.
-
Arsenal should've put them away well before they equalised tbf. Going by their forum they seem pretty miserable too. Probably not a pasting but going into a PL game, away from home, expecting us to win is a terrifying and otherworldly feeling.

The 3rd video down was the last "normal" weekend before COVID. Remember it incredibly vividly. Football was cancelled for the following week and we descended into that 18 months of hell. *shudder* Without sounding like an arrogant deluded jawdee I think we're capable of dishing out a pasting here. They tend to get one as a seasonal tradition? 0-6 last season, 9-0 before that and 0-9 before that. We're only 3/1 to score 3+ goals.

Probably am his biggest critic most of the time but he was my MOTM yesterday. Relentless.
