Favourite win: Villa (H). We were unstoppable that day in the 2nd half, 6-0 or 7-0 would not have flattered us in the slightest. Honourable mention to Leicester (A) given the polarising difference to last season and the many games against them under Ashley which would be an indictment on where the two clubs' trajectories were going. Favourite goal: The 2nd at home to Southampton in the League Cup semi. Geet sucker for a lush team goal. Who's surprised you most: Almirón. Wanted him gone in the summer, probably still do given I don't want him starting but no one could've foreseen double figures in goals. Fair play to him. Most frustrating: Probably has to go to ASM as much as I love him given his fitness issues and that performance against Man City contrasted with his others. Still want him here next season though. Mention to Wilson as well as he's been awful post World Cup, but he was brilliant before it. Best player: Bruno or Schär. Bruno's just quality but as many deserved plaudits as Botman has been getting Schär has been our best defender this season imo. Moment of the season: Tough one, either Forest (A) on Friday given the feeling of importance of it, Isak being back and fucking class and personally witnessing it in the away end was unreal. Or Chelsea (H); deservedly beating them, 3rd going into the break, bit of revenge on their players and Havertz given the last game against them at Stamford Bridge, loveleh. Reaching Wembley was dampened for me given the loss of Bruno for the league games and the song and dance made over the final got a bit irritating for me. Maybe I'm just miserable.

Shit source so hopefully bollocks but this makes no sense if it's true. Bruno, Isak and Botman have been amongst our best players this season, none of whom played in English football beforehand. The clubs we want to be competing with, the 'big 6' hardly ever take this approach either and with good reason. Hope it's a load of shite.

Would take blue numbers a la 2003-05, mind, black, white and blue are the colours of a magpie at the end of the day. We've had white and gold as well but they're probably not visible enough for auld commentators and TV watchers.

If any of those get changed I'll be storming wherever they meet and throwing a few Chester-le-Street sledgehammers about.

This one? Can only find the GIF.

I still like him and think he should be starting injuries permitting. On top of that we need a squad next season given we should hopefully be playing some kind of European football and he'll still get game time given the turnaround between matches. As the above post says there are so many in the squad (even those still out on loan) that need replacing well before ASM.

Only way in which we can finish 4th and not play Champions League is if Chelsea win the Champions League this season AND Manchester United win the Europa League but finish this season outside the top 4. It's possible but both those scenarios happening is very unlikely, Chelsea have got Real Madrid next and even if they got past them they then have the winners of Man City v Bayern.

Thank you for wording it better than I. Aye, that. Want it back, me.
-
Surely the NUFC-MUFC enmity/rivalry from the 90s and early 00s is something we all want back? I certainly do.
-
Aye, think so. Watched back the highlights of almost every single game we've played this season, apart from that one. Don't think I ever will. Far too painful and anger inducing.

Nah it was checked. From the .com match report;

Discounted Isak's and Joelinton's because the other two were referees simply just getting the laws of the game wrong which in top level football is just a disgrace tbh. The arbitrary line drawing for Isak's Anfield goal is utter shit as well, mind. He doesn't look offside and even if he was by a nanometer he gains no advantage whatsoever given he went back inside and sat two defenders of theirs on the floor. We win that game if we go 0-2 up. The Joelinton one was inconclusive as some angles looked like the ball did touch his arm but some where it looked fine, not enough *grits teeth* clear and obvious evidence to overturn the on field ref's original decision of handball. Maybe remembering it wrong though.

Most boring club in the league. Played dull as fuck football for years only to end up 12th every season. Get them down.

Was on a complete high and had a great weekend so wasn't annoyed at all about the disallowed goal, my view from the away end of the screen(s) inside the ground was naff as well so didn't see it until I watched the game back last night. Now that I've seen it it's absolutely baffling. We've had 2 goals taken off us this season through VAR, both of which have been just categorically wrong decisions. Anderson v Forest and Willock/Mitchell OG v Palace. Thankfully it didn't cost us on Friday, but fucking hell.

McTominay, man. What a haram transfer that'd be.

Will it not? They still play on the Thursday before so surely they can't play on the Saturday?
