  1. That's counterintuitive though: we'll get better players in the summer and beyond, so surely we should keep him as a result of that?
  2. I didn't see one. Thankfully the number of Saudi flags at games has been vastly overtaken by Brazilian ones.
  3. Yep, which is why I used him as a comparison. People will say that ASM can't touch Robert in regards to quality, yet their goal contribution per 90 is similar and Robert took set pieces in addition to playing in a far better side. It's a bit of revisionism given how the same people probably fucking hated him for not working hard enough and will be the same about ASM in about 10 years.
  4. 23 goal contributions in 83 appearances for us, where we've been mostly shit. For a comparison, Robert has 55 goal contributions in 150 appearances. Not much in it, Robert ever so slightly ahead on goal contributions per 90 and he took set pieces. He's in a bad patch of form, all players have them and we've all seen what he's capable of when in form. We're so close to the end of the season now and today and Sunday are games I'm not going to read too much into especially given the alternative forward options. Upgrade those alternative options and next season will be make or break for him. Not having reactionary calls to sell him, sorry like.
  5. End of the season couldn't come quick enough for him. Needs to reset and look forward to next season with better players around him. He's one the least of the squad's problems.
  6. I swear bonds haven't been sold since like around 1994 the whole Save Our Seats campaign and that? https://www.nufc.com/html/sos-irishtimes-1.html https://www.nufc.com/html/sos-irishtimes-2.html Not seen them advertised anywhere on the club site or on .com.
  7. I was last in in early February for the trebles, only place that springs to mind that does 3 for £6. Usually I'd never go in, it's one of the most popular student places hence the rowdy clientele on a weekend. Personally go by this account tbh. https://www.instagram.com/guinness_upon_tyne/ Inside the Irish Centre looks like a depressing auld bloke's social club from the 90s, however nice the Guinness is.
  8. Dog & Parrot is best avoided, aye it plays decent music but it's a student place at best and the hovel you've described at its worst. That Wraith is there before and after every game is extra reason to avoid it. Town Wall do probably the best Guinness in the town now.
  9. Maximum points total Leeds and Burnley can get is 46, Everton can get 47. We're on 43. Can see Everton getting 9 or 10 points tbf. Burnley can probably get 7, Leeds could get 5. Could well go to the last day but between Leeds and Everton.
  10. Did okay given the opposition. Most Liverpool opportunities came from turnovers where we give the ball away cheaply. But I'm a tad disappointed in us in possession, as an attacking entity we were next to non existent. Hey ho, onwards and upwards.
  11. Fucking hate the early kick off. Up this early, 10am pints, ugh. But fucking howay man.
  12. Could tell from my seat that it was a massive fucking dive. Was spitting feathers the whole way home after the game.
  13. There's no reason we can't be in and amongst between 8th and 4th next season if, and it's a big if, we can get our signings spot on. Leicester will be having a mini overhaul themselves so could be going through a difficult transitional phase, Wolves seem to have tailed off recently and didn't look special at all when we beat them at SJP, Villa have been poor for the most part for a couple months now and Manchester United have been absolutely awful this season though they still have better players than us in most areas and it remains to be seen whether ten Hag can hit the ground running. Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham will still be up there I think. Spurs have a much better side but some of it is dependent on Conte, Arsenal have a good nucleus of young players now despite that they can have the odd brainfart and it remains to be seen what happens at West Ham in the summer. I think we can target 7th next season assuming we can get our signings right. ~60 points would be a great return and a great improvement.
  14. Ronaldo 0.5 SOT, Alonso card, Maddison 0.5 SOT, Mancini card 4 fold, 18.5/1.
  15. League Cup, EL and ECL (god forbid) are our best chances imo. Doable.
  16. I'd rather expand the Europa League than have this Conference League tbh. While good for smaller clubs, no one in the top 5 leagues really wants to be in it. Should've kept the 5th-7th spots in the PL (depending on cups) qualifies teams for the Europa League and expanded it to have more clubs outside the top 5 leagues in it.
  17. Yeah, like Mowbray. Hopefully, as unlikely as it seems, Blackburn can get into the playoffs and they can come back up. Would be an ideal send off for him.
  18. One of my good mates at uni is a scouser. Evertonian, but a sound lad. No animosity between us ever when it comes to the football like there seems to be online hence why I'm not really arsed if Everton go down or not. Red scousers I've met are the same, all sound. All fucking hate the Tories. It's the arrogant Liverpool fans who aren't scousers that do my tits in. Largely bell ends that lot, honestly.
  19. Only English club I ever want doing well in any competition is Newcastle United. Fuck the rest.
  20. BT Sport's coverage of CL gets rancid with it's English team love in. You'd think the opposition were just minnows the way they go on, whether it's Villarreal, Bayern, Ludogorets or Real Madrid.
