That falls under the manager's remit also for me, which suggests they aren't playing for him. I don't think it's true that they aren't, mind.
-
I think you missed the one I was making also, like. Which is resentment of the general defense of 'Howe achieved good thing X (be that a cup or CL) but it's the players fault that we have been shite this season', implying Howe has no fault for the reprehensible league season this year but the great things achieved is seasons gone by was all Howe.
-
For my sins making it sound as basic as possible (which it isn't), players' performances are directly the manager's responsibility; making sure they are motivated, executing game plans, are working on things in training and changing things up when they aren't going swell. The performances of the two are intrinsically linked. At the very least two of those four things we look to be falling short on based on what's being served up on the park. He's been rightly praised for what has been achieved in previous seasons for getting those things right. Absolving him of this but shifting blame onto the players that he picks, whom getting to perform is his remit, I just find an incredibly flimsy cop out for him like I would for any manager.

Could've just come out with this originally then, as I agree and don't come into this thread often as a result despite preferring a change at the end of the season, instead of the 'I dunno if it'd be the same the other way as that's how I think, how being a REAL PROPER fan is' shtick.

Incredibly sanctimonious patter but you do you.
-
Exact same can be said the other way. The sheer need to be the one to get the ‘told you so’ on an internet forum is sad as fuck.

Absolutely fantastic example of a false narrative, this. Can’t have it both ways by saying Howe is the one who won us a trophy and got CL but it’s the players phoning it in now for the reason we’re still garbage and in the position we’re in what is soon to be May. Either give one the entire credit/criticism for both or neither.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35546090 Tickets stayed at this level until last season, and they’re trying to put them up again. Hence the protests.
-
The whole ‘if you won’t have it I’ll take your season ticket’ and ‘if you won’t pay it I will’ shite I resent like fuck. I have immense respect for Spirit of Shankly which is the section of Liverpool supporters that organise things such as protests like what they’re doing now. Their 77th minute walk out a decade ago. Our lot don’t want to know.

Outrageous from Kane.
-
Sturridge dressed like Mao or Stalin.
-
Why move your hands from behind your back after the ball is struck? Harsh but daft from Davies. Just saw it’s hit his leg first. Aye, shite that.

Like a totally different sport to the horseshit we’re subject to watching in our dreadful league, this.

5:30pm kick off on a Sunday? Announced 2.5 weeks before the fixture? So that no league game clashes with the FA Cup final which for some reason is being played before the end of the season?

I'm like this. Happy when we win, bit miffed when we lose and over it either way by the time I'm back in the pub or the game finishes if I'm watching on TV. Which is a far cry from the last couple years where I'd take defeats personally. Remember drawing with West Ham at home 1-1 in 2023 and it ruining my week. Now it just washes over me mostly, the derbies aside. Think it's just down to the way football is going for me though tbh. Particularly around ticketing, ticket prices, draconian measures being brought in by clubs that seem hell bent on destroying whatever is left of football fan culture. Assuming I don't get one of those very few season tickets available I'm scaling back the number of games I attend from next season. The cost is just taking the piss and only seems to be getting worse with only Liverpool fans making any sort of real stand.
-
Think we'll get something at Forest but that's based on nowt bar our record there and their win against Burnley the other week being their only home league win since 14th December.
-
I was. Thought it was dead but wasn't anti Howe by any stretch.. Though I was about 6-8 pints deep by kick off so probably not the best person to ask.
-
I voted no (and changed my original vote after the derby to the same or whatever answer was similar) but don't like the wording of it tbh. I'll back him and the team wherever possible at games and I think it's pointless getting rid of him now. But a better wording would be imo 'do you want Howe in charge next season'.
-
Voted no and tbh it’s been my position since the derby last month. The football is incredibly dull, boring and shite and has been for too long. Hate that I feel that way; an awful way for an amazing 4.5 years to end.

Had zero faith we were ever going to equalise tbph.

Their season’s over tbf. Safety and beyt the mags. Nowt else matters. Still better than us currently, mind.
