Tbf, in the preceding home game against Sunderland the players were greeted with one of Wor Flags’ best displays and an atmosphere right behind them yet still served up a showing as bad as the stuff served up in that fixture under Pardew. I'm unsure about that, mind. We finished 11th in 2021-22 despite having 1 win in the first 21 games. If we finished below 11th, which is where I think we'll finish this season, in 2022-23 despite spending on Botman, Isak, Gordon in January et al I think people would've batted an eyelid, like.

As I’ve posted before it should’ve been the summer before the one just gone imo. Instead he was given a new contract; he’ll be 30 before the start of next season and I can’t see many clubs out there paying him what we do.
