  1. Out the FA Cup, Gordon out of the final, continuing the trend of being dross in 2025. A Sunday afternoon well spent imo.
  2. Same. Weren't booed, but me and my dad got to our row and blokes spoke up to me dad 'awh that's done a lot, we're getting beat now lads' as West Ham scored on the minute of the walk-in. From there on in my dad didn't want to bother with any more protests.
  3. A good shout and one that did enter my mind but the Huddersfield game that season, given the scale of importance of it, edges it for me. We were in total control of the game despite only having 23% of the ball if that makes sense. Totally stifled them. Getting 7 points from Brighton, Huddersfield and Reading all away in a week was superb that season. Howe's got a few, the Spurs game at home last season a shout. Arsenal away when we got a 0-0 draw wasn't exactly a masterclass as we didn't win the game but the way he adjusted how we were set up after we were getting overrun in the first 15-20 minutes to hardly conceding even a half chance for the rest of the game was impressive. The Arsenal home cup game this season too. Remember reading through an analysis at the time of when we beat Chelsea 1-0 just before the World Cup break at SJP and a subtle but clear when you notice it tactic was baiting Chelsea's midfielders into the middle to allow a spare man in the space behind. Can't remember the exact details but shit like that I find proper interesting.
  4. https://archive.ph/XIp37 I'll be amazed if Ruud is still there after the international break. Nah, actually I won't be, given the absolute state of the way that club is run.
  5. Benitez; Huddersfield away March 2017 in the Championship.
  6. Maybe the game hasn’t completely gone just yet.
  7. And the 'please can I have your shirt' things bairns hold up. Utter WOKE nonsense.
  8. The level of cringe I've just felt. My word.
  9. It's definitely league wide, like. It's going to shit, modern top level football, if it hasn't already (it has). Ticket prices, scrapping concessions, ID checks, prioritisation of income above all else to the point of fleecing fans and hiding behind PSR as a defence when it's frankly just a load of shit. E-tickets, inability to transfer season tickets for one off matches in some cases (Forest & Brighton I know don't allow it). It's getting worse and worse and will continue to unless fans truly put a foot down about it. Unfortunately I don't think ours will; seen it aplenty on social media and on here. Going into bat for ticket price rises, schemes and a load of 'if you won't pay it I will'. Rank. Plus, it's not as good as it used to be is it?. Whether its being spoilt or just miserable, I haven't particularly enjoyed this season much at all. Even some of the games we've won and/or picking up points in like we were early season I didn't enjoy watching overall.
  10. There were about 40k season ticket holders in 2017-18 under Benitez iirc. Wasn't an issue then.
  11. I think the overriding point is that as it stands there is no way to discern one member from the next, ie a genuine fan who makes the effort to get tickets to every game (or asks/gets someone else to do it for them) and someone who isn't arsed but enters a ballot as going to a NUFC match could be a decent and different part of their day out. Or an away fan who takes a punt on a membership and ballot for when their team plays at SJP. With no tiered memberships, recognition of loyalty et al, there is no way to tell one member from another. They're all lumped in the same pot as each other with the season ticket holding Herrenvolk above. Now, don't get me wrong, STH should get priority. However, I don't think giving members the opportunity to build points up takes anything away from STH. The issue with this would be if they lumped all members in the same pot as STH for some things such as away tickets, which due to inability to discern member from member, is a total and utter non-starter. Many members feel that as there is no waiting list or anything of the sort and the membership system as it is currently, there's no way up or down, recognition of the money they spend or the time they take to get tickets. At the end of this season I'd have paid over £2k across this season and last just getting to home games; more than I'd have spent if I got my ST back in 2022 after I didn't renew in 2019 due to the price hike and logistics on top of Bruce & Ashley. There's zero recognition of that. That's the frustration.
  12. Aye, as I would be one of those. In 2021-22 I was in my final year of uni, was finally on a higher maintenance loan as I was on minimum for the first 2 years, and most of it went on tickets for matches, train tickets and beer before and after the matches. But as a penny pinching student, I was buying them through my dad's ST/membership. I remember when they announced the criteria for the eligibility for the 1000 season tickets they issued in summer 2022; you had to have a purchase history for a ticket prior to 2021. I was sweating on it as I couldn't remember if I ever bought a match ticket in my first year. Turns out I did, which I don't remember. If only I was more savvy with the site then...
  13. I've always sung it that way personally, with the 'you'. Been educated properly I suppose.
  14. She’s on the record saying she’s not a season ticket holder, yet was able to be at Dortmund, Bournemouth and Sunderland away last season, likely more, when transfers weren’t even in place.
  15. Maybe, but they’ve songs like Fields of Anfield Road, A Liverbird On My Chest and Old Scouser Tommy that have been sung for years. Our lot can’t even be arsed to sing Blaydon Races properly.
  16. Post takeover, atmospheres home and away in 2021-22 and 2022-23 were night and day compared to now. The only thing that’s changed since then is ticketing. Part of that is expectation but it’s no coincidence. Some of the best home league atmospheres that I can remember were in 2021-22; Man Utd, Everton, Leicester & Arsenal. Man City, Man Utd, Villa, Brighton in 2022-23. Good away ends in both seasons. Now we’ll get probably one good home atmosphere a season and regularly poor away ends.
  17. It's a bit of a mess all round. Wembley is going to be massive for this sort of thing. And I'm braced for disappointment tbh. Agree on the second part. I kna it shouldn't but that's what I mean; I don't know why it's gone that way apart from blaming the way ticketing has changed. I remember the away end at Spurs in the League Cup QF at 4-0 down, no chance of replicating that now. Whether that's a part of expectation increasing, ticketing, what you've said about people fancying it because we're decent or or all of them, I don't know.
  18. Loads of comments going around on the away end being shocking and not from usual Twitter bell ends either. Didn't hear our lot once tbh, though tbf there wasn't much to shout about on the pitch. Consensus is that since the checks came in the quality of our away ends has nosedived. Far too many saying it for it not to be true. If the case, why are they so shite when only STH with points can 'legally' purchase and use an away ticket (the transfer system not withstanding)? Seems counterintuitive on the face of it. And don't get me wrong, I fucking resent checks of tickets at football games. Find them draconian as fuck, especially how NUFC do them. But I've been to 4 away games since the checks came in as a non STH (Forest x2, Everton & Arsenal this season) and Forest was canny both times and Arsenal mint but Everton was a bit naff, also probably representative of what was served on the pitch. But I do wonder why it's the case. It can't not be true with the amount of people saying it.
  19. Been a bit of a (huge) buried thought for me in the back of my mind but this absolutely. Not that it's the fans to blame or owt like that, but that kind of culture kinda seeps throughout imo. Fixtures like this, its the same, every year. How people look at them and how we perform in them; as if we're still battling relegation and trying to preserve the goal difference. We'll never be a truly big or elite club if it perpetuates.
  20. Tonight and Palace away from the top of my head.
  21. Chelsea too. The exact same performances at these grounds every year in my lifetime. Sick of it tbh.
  22. Utterly woeful in the final third all night.
  23. Our attacking play has been hopeless; 0 shots on target. Waits until we go 2 down to change it up. It’s not the first time he’s done it either.
