I’d give it a 7. We’ve finally addressed positions that have been longstanding in RW, CB and GK. Upgraded on Longstaff. Brought in a highly rated prospect none of us saw coming and got in a solid replacement for Wilson albeit at an inflated fee. The negatives are losing Isak which was unthinkable back in May/June. To Liverpool of all clubs as well. The time it’s taken to get a Wilson replacement done on top of that resulting in 7 dropped points. We’ve raised the floor and are much better equipped for CL football than we were in 2023-24 but not raised the ceiling. They could improve and become top class players but Elanga isn’t a Bruno/Tonali/rat cunt level RW atm. Thiaw is unproven as is Woltemade really.

Think it goes under the radar that he’s a bit of a crock these days. We need another midfielder, ideally a technical one that can offer incisiveness on the ball in attack. Think we sorely lack that so opposition are able to nullify us if they can shut out the wide areas.

He can’t be if he’s not able to be on the pitch for more than half a season (on average).

To being regularly available? He’s missed 38 matches from the start of 2023-24 to now. Think we need(ed) another midfielder for that reason as well as needing more creativity from the middle.
