Class start. Matter of time before we get a goal to show for it.
-
Ahhhh man. Would've liked to see Perez score. Two chances.
-
A fellow Nico propagandist. Love to see it.
-
He's got the bye of not being a midfielder yet being put in midfield for me.
-
Rice has been spraying hospital passes about almost all game.
-
Alexander-Arnold in midfield is pointless unless you have the lion's share of possession. Any side with a semi competent midfield will win the battle in the middle.
-
Everton away is the last game before an international break so no chance of it being a Monday night.
-
Happy with that list. Home to the playoff winners is a class fixture to start off with. Playing Everton in the daylight as well. Shocked.
-
We did in 2015-16 & 2017-18 plus Arsenal did last season.
-
England have been decent so far and deservedly ahead but aren't at least 3 up so I'm absolutely seething.
-
Only played them in the daylight with fans in the ground home or away twice since 2012. (March 2015 and December 2019). All others have been midweek or Monday nights. And for posterity; Opening: Leicester (A), we haven't had an away opening PL game since 2013. And no, I'm not counting COVIDball. Boxing Day: Liverpool (H) Last: Forest (H)

It's about whether it's a deliberate attempt to play the ball from the defender. Think there's no chance of Rodri getting the ball there so I think it's also a red personally.

Musiala is a joke. Wonderful footballer, so good to watch.
-
Would absolutely love him here, I'm a big fan of his. Think he's perfect for us. Wages are allegedly very high, €200,000 a week but I haven't found any reputable sources reporting that. Think only Ben Jacobs and GOAL.com have ran with it which has been perpetuated on Transfermarkt and FBRef, the latter of whom has asterisked it with 'unverified estimation'. He's been mentioned by Douglas and Waugh since the season's close as well.

Seems like a canny lad when I've seen him get interviewed. This regarding the penalty fiasco? But I agree that I don't think he's the best we could get by any means especially for the fee Chelsea will ask for as he's got 5 years left on his current deal there.
-
Never really believed we can get Olise. Chelsea can beat us for wages and he can stay in London.

Not really. The away ticket workshop from what I've heard from someone who was there was pretty much unanimous in that the ID checks or at least the way that they're done/threatened, is terrible. We're yet to hear on this front but I'd stick money on it being the same this coming season. Be chuffed if I was wrong. The ballot workshop, which I was at, had numerous suggestions. Some were hilarious but the most common ones were having the ability to choose where you sit and that the concept of having the same chance of getting a ticket to a game as an away fan who takes a punt on a membership is shite.
-
Slim chance I'm jumping to conclusions but looks like it'll be the exact same ticket policy as last season including the shpeel about away tickets. Good to see they listened to those present at the workshop events, then.

Just under 2 months earlier than last season so an improvement there at least.

If you don't think we can sign someone younger, who offers what he offers off the ball but has actual technical quality then I'm not sure what to say. Minteh should be that player coming on at 60 minutes. He's in higher percentiles than Almiron is everything other than interceptions and is 11 years younger. That patch is soon to be 2 seasons ago. You can't hold onto an attacker who doesn't contribute much in terms of G&A because they did uncharacteristically contribute in one spell two seasons ago.
-
It hasn't been great for his entire time at the club barring a purple patch in October 2022 which has been proven to be exactly that. And 6 assists in 5 and a half years, man. He's going to turn 31 next season and isn't good enough. Runs his bollocks off every week but has extremely little technical quality. That's nowhere near enough for a club that wants to be consistently in Europe.
-
Don't want us to sell him and 100% agree with moving on Almiron first. Jacob Murphy got 1 more assist just last season (7) than Almiron has in his entire Newcastle career (6). Don't think we'll get Olise. Think Pedro Neto misses too many games. I've mentioned I really want us to go for Nico Williams but getting players out of Bilbao will be tough, even with his release clause. Regardless, our LW options being Gordon, Barnes, Joelinton and maybe Anderson and the RW options being a new big money signing, Minteh and Murphy would be class. Fully agree. He can be a bit of a passenger at times but he's still probably the best crosser of the ball at the club.
