They did yeah. Didn't just freeze them but reduced them by a sizeable percentage. I've read about that. How 1984 is football getting, man.

I agree and it is a depressing part about it. What I find more depressing is the patter from our fans about it. "We need expensive tickets to increase revenues". "If you don't pay it then I will". It's lifting as fuck. I remember back in 2016 when Liverpool fans walked out of a game against the mackems on the 77th minute as LFC were putting some general admission tickets up to £77. The walk out happened and LFC relented and reduced the price back to what it was. Not a chance our lot would do anything remotely similar. They couldn't even be arsed to do much when Ashley was running the club into the ground. On top of that, Liverpool were 2-0 up in that game against the mackems. After the walk out, the mackems scored 2 late goals and drew 2-2. If a walk out did happen here and similar happened, would hate to think of the grief those that walked would be getting.

Yeah. Without any proof of it whilst not at home I’d wager our general admission tickets have gone up about 20 quid in costs stadium wide in the last couple years. If it’s £58 for the cheapest tickets for a category A game now it’ll be likely well over £60 for where I usually sit and I was paying £49 for category A games in 2022-23 iirc.

In 2022-23; Liverpool’s income was £594m of which £79m came from matchday income (13% of their overall income). Manchester City’s income was £713m of which £72m came from matchdays (10% of their overall income). Aston Villa’s income was £218m of which £19m came from matchdays (9% of their overall income). Crystal Palace’s income was £180m of which £12m came from gate receipts (7% of their overall income). Nottingham Forest’s income was £155m of which £11m came from gate receipts (7% of their overall income). Brentford’s income was £167m of which £11m came from matchdays (7% of their overall income). That’s matchday income altogether so tickets as well as food, drink, hospitality etc. Revenue from general admission tickets are a tiny part of a club’s revenue. An extra £20 is going to mean fuck all to the club but it means quite a bit to fans.

There were a couple times the only seats left last season were in the Milburn for a general sale. Given it's another 5% increase (the third one in three years), the cost of a one off ticket in there particularly in the Platinum Club I imagine are a cunt hair off £90 for Category A games. Be £70 for where I usually try and sit in the East Stand to be near my dad and those we go with. Can see myself missing a few games this season tbh. These prices are frankly lifting and I was loathe to pay them as they were last season.

I’m finding Mitchell to be a very convenient scapegoat, mind. It’s his fault we’re not getting Trafford and that Isak isn’t tied down but also it’s the fault of him leaving why this summer has been difficult due to the lack of sporting director. If he was such an unmitigated disaster, what was the selection process and why is no one criticising Eales for his role in that and also the bit of a joke that has been this summer thus far? Who still hasn’t found his own replacement (assuming it’s part of his responsibility that is).

No, they aren’t. https://thefsa.org.uk/news/ticket-price-pain-rising-costs-measured-in-the-football-price-index/ https://thefsa.org.uk/news/high-ticket-prices-are-not-the-answer-to-psr/

It didn’t help fans purely because it gave an excuse to clubs to fleece their own fans. Ticket revenue is negligible when it comes to impact on PSR. Charging extra £20-£30 brings in what, like an extra £2m-£4m? Absolutely fuck all to clubs, but £20-£30 is a lot to a fan. They couldn’t give a fuck and as long as fans stay quiet about it (or in quite a few cases for our a lot, go into bat for it) it’ll keep on happening.

Cheapest adult ticket £58. Fucking hell. Disgusting, frankly.

Solid run out at a snip for £6.99. Good to see all of the new signings in the colours as well. -

I’m not watching, but whatever is getting served up can’t be as embarrassing as some of the shite from our fans today. Fucking hell. -

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)
HaydnNUFC replied to Miggys First Goal's topic in Football
Romano is a total fraud; tweets the same thing but slightly reworded multiple times a day to farm interactions which brings in a few quid. His here we go shpeel is 9 times out of 10 reliable but it’s almost always reported by another reputable source first. Same with vast majority of transfer window nonces on social media. -

Based on absolutely fuck all if this doesn’t get done (ie bid accepted) by the weekend I don’t think it’s happening. Sagas such as the Guehi one last summer have probably left a mark. If it came to sacrificing signing Ekitike to keep Isak I’d take that option in a heartbeat. Though if he did sign and Isak stays I’d be a giddy, excited, smug as fuck lunatic. -

No idea what the plan is going into this season in terms of set up or whatever with Isak still number 1, but fuck me it's exciting. (assuming this happens) -
Wasn't hugely convinced about him as a signing about a week or so ago. Now after these recent videos since he’s signed, personally would now fight to the death for him.

Thought he looked done here after the Bromley game. His minutes since and place in the pecking order suggest that too. We'd be daft to not take that offer.

Prefer a collective "GO ON" myself.

A signing! Whew. Pace.
