  1. Ludicrous take. But I do think Howe is under pressure next season to deliver European football. A club whose owners claim to be wanting to take the club to regularly challenge the elites wouldn't be happy with 2 consecutive seasons without European football you'd think. Any of those clubs we want to be challenging wouldn't be.
  2. The display at Stamford Bridge as well.
  3. I'll be off the High Level Bridge if/when that gets triggered.
  4. Not sure we can blame Bruce for this one; he got back into the team in that unreal run we went on post January in 2021-22 and still featured pre October 2022 last season. Just fell out with Howe with whatever reason. Got himself to blame.
  5. It's the general principle of it; flying to the other side of the world immediately after the regular season had ended to 'raise the profile of the club' or whatever justification was given to play to pointless friendlies that most don't care about. One of which we put a team of kids out in to lose 8-0 to avoid injuries. Some profile raising, that. At least we got rid of those injury magnetic FA Cup replays, though.
  6. VCF is negotiating with @NUFC a transfer of Mamardashvili, which will be around €40M and is considering signing Juan Soriano on a free transfer to complete the goal @GolsmediaCVal
  7. Edwards, before replying to himself absolutely insisting that it is Ramsdale and Ramsdale only we are looking at and that he's off for some wine or is tired.
  8. Only change(s) I'd accept would be for the club to keep the current crest as the overall club crest but to wear the 83-88 badge on the kits, similar to what Liverpool do with keeping their overall crest but having just the liverbird with 'LFC' on like they did pre 1990 on the kits. OR A 'dumbing down' of the colours on the current crest to the 125 Years crest from 2017-18, if the amount of colours are an issue for graphic designing cost cutting nonces.
  9. This is from the Athletic article about the deal to buy Isak back in August 2022. Hopefully those others at the club come to the same conclusion, if Baldwards' article has truth.
  10. Personally think Horncastle can be a bit holier-than-thou and his Lord Farquaad trim looks fucking ridiculous but why broadcasters don't have journalists like him, Julian Laurens et al on as pundits who actually know what they're talking about regarding European teams more often is beyond me.
  11. I really, really fucking hope we can feel like those Atalanta fans there do in the near future. Time ticking down knowing you've won a trophy for the first time in yonks.
  12. Yep, but only if Atalanta finish 5th.
  13. Serie A with 6 clubs in the CL next season as it stands.
  14. He has a ~£45m release clause in his contract doesn't he? Williams that is. Not sure I buy the stories about him being on €200k a week. Understand getting players out of Bilbao is very difficult, though. Think Olise will be £65m+, easy.
  15. Hope not. I'm a big fan of his and I'm unsure that we can get Olise this summer.
  16. Nico Williams with 16 assists this season? Bring him to the cathedral, I beg.
  17. A final in Dublin. If we ever got to such a thing I doubt I'd make it home.
  18. How good is Mamardashvili good with the ball at his feet? Massive bonus to have a keeper that is good on the ball especially when wanting to have more control in games.
  19. Agree with all of that. Joelinton and Tonali being out has affected this across the season obviously but even with them we haven't really been able to impose control in away games which mainly comes from midfield. Managing games by keeping the ball for periods when not losing for example. Thinking of Brighton, Milan, West Ham mainly the ones springing to mind. Even though its harsh including it, Man City as well. They had played in the Super Cup in Greece the midweek prior to us playing them on Saturday and whilst we had 41% possession, a lot for a team away there, we did absolutely nothing with it. Didn't create a single clear chance in 90 minutes if I remember. If we want to become a real top side, that has to improve. Its been huge part of Arteta's improvement of Arsenal in the last couple seasons.
  20. Final version will look tidier, but the back is ruined by it being all white. Should be all black imo. And tbh, Adidas just needed to recreate Juventus' 2017-18 kit for us. Would've sold fuck knows how many.
  21. Add a backup striker that doesn't miss ⅔ of the season and a RW that can add ~10 goals and that's the difference between 7th and 3rd-4th. Maybe even higher.
  22. Fingers crossed it only lasts a season or two. It's fucking shit.
