  1. VAR would’ve been and still could be fine. The problem is they got referees to decide on the implementation and usage of it. If they’d given it to a panel of players, you know, people that have actually played the game, the implementation would’ve been fine. Exactly the same thing should be done when deciding on rule changes but instead they leave it to people who have never played the game and they consistently fuck it up. Who’d have thought?! Ex players get paid more to complain about it. Can't fault them for maximising their earning potential.
  2. That some sort of kink he's into with Edwards? Didn't Bruce say Fraser had a sore groin and wouldn't be using him? The plot thickens.
  3. Aye, they're going to be totally biased in our favour, and talk about how great Bruce is. He probably showed great tactical astuteness by waiting until an injury time penalty to unleash the big guns.
  4. These celebrations are far too ambiguous, did we score it or not?
  5. He's currently arguing with the league statistician about why they should be counted as shots on target.
  6. Doesn't want to risk an injury that ruins his chances of a transfer. Can't say I blame him.
  7. I think Mourinho will spare us. No need to exert yourself against us.
  8. Typical men. No work at the weekend so they just sit on their arses, failing to support the women.
  9. Christ. I knew Bobby Moncur. And [there's every chance] he knows me. I once asked him, at Newcastle Races just before he became a director, what the hell he thought Ashley was up to. He never returned for the main course. That may be exaggeration. I don't know if he'd eaten. But he did leave pretty sharpish.
  10. A don't think a've ever seen the geordie I written like that. Can't decide if it's thick or pretentious. But if it's the one who never takes his fucking hat off, I know which one I'd bet on.
  11. No I'm calm. I am onto my second bottle of sauvignon blanc like. Well spotted. Quite possibly the most middle class response. But Big Sam drinks it by the pint. Sure that was Cab Sav
  12. Which is absolutely fair enough, I just remember [was it a rumour about an announcement, or an announcement? I struggle to remember these days] hearing that every game would be broadcast.
  13. Don't they have allowances for substitutions? You'd think they'd have the same for goals. Subs are a ~minute. Goals are nothing if there aren't long celebrations. Otherwise there would be 5-6 mins added time each game with lots of goals. When are there ever 10 or 12 goals in a game The general rule of thumb is 30secs for goals and subs The subs thing isn't a general rule of thumb though, it's a rule. A rule that we are aware of. I'm sure we'd know if there was a rule regarding goals. Law 7. Allowance for time lost Allowance is made by the referee in each half for all time lost in that half through: substitutions assessment and/or removal of injured players wasting time disciplinary sanctions medical stoppages permitted by competition rules e.g. ‘drinks’ breaks (which should not exceed one minute) and ‘cooling’ breaks (ninety seconds to three minutes) delays relating to VAR 'checks' and 'reviews; any other cause, including any significant delay to a restart (e.g. goal celebrations) The fourth official indicates the minimum additional time decided by the referee at the end of the final minute of each half. The additional time may be increased by the referee but not reduced. The referee must not compensate for a timekeeping error during the first half by changing the length of the second half. So not goals. Any other cause, PGMOL have said standard PL practice is 30 seconds per goal. OK. But the example given is goal celebration. So it definitely doesn't stipulate goals. I haven't got a clue who PGMOL are, tbh. I get substitutions and goal celebrations as they are deliberate tactics to run the clock down. but you don't score a goal to run the clock down. Look them up - it’s not hard. I’d recommend Google. To quote them - and they run/ manage the referees “they do add time. It's around 30 seconds as a rule of thumb, unless they spend five minutes celebrating. Every situation is different, they'll take each one on its merit.” I think you should quote the whole answer: "Is the clock stopped for goals? No, it's not. But they do add time (to cover celebrations). It's around 30 seconds as a rule of thumb, unless they spend five minutes celebrating. Every situation is different, they'll take each one on its merit." So no, goals do not automatically mean added time. There might be no celebrations at all. Implied, not said. Put the glue down and step away.
  14. Have any of the games so far this season been available to watch for free, like was promised?
  15. Why would he quote the bit that proved him wrong?

  18. But why should they, unless the celebrations are excessively long? There were 30 seconds left of stoppage time when March scored, why add anoter two minutes on top of that? Never gonna blow the full time whistle on an attacking corner Seen it done. And I've seen refs blow on the second ball. Never against Man U like. but football, Saint, is a funny owld game.
