  1. Ashley filtered it and came up with "generated revenues for our business and investment into my money flow. As I eat placenta and bathe in the blood of orphans." - Mike Ashley 2018

Nandez shouldnt cost that much but would be a solid player to add. On the squad situation. I see people mentioning fullbacks and I would agree another left back would be nice but I would put a couple positions at the very least ahead in consequence. A #9 and a #10 is needed plus a left back before even looking at the otherside. I think Rafa likes those two (Yedlin/Manquillo) and both are young enough to still show growth. If there was a lot more money then sure but cant see even fulfilling those 3 holes I mentioned above adequately.

We can still do another loan within the league right?
  5. His fee, for a striker, is pretty much nothing and we know what the status quo looks like with the side. We needed 2 strikers (well we dont personnel wise but lets be honest) and we shall see who the other one is. If selling Mbemba for Schar allowed a little bit of extra money (plus other sales potentially) to get Muto instead of Joselu, why not. Now at the end of the window if we are sitting here with Muto, Joselu, and Gayle then I will not be pleased so let this play out. This is all in the reality of this turd sandwich situation where we see teams spending and were making a profit on roster fodder, I wish the reality of the situation was different.
  6. Maguire is a good CB but I mean if he goes for 60-65 then thats insane. I mean Lindelof, who struggled last year for them, looked good at the WC as well so things should be kept in perspective. Mad really. I guess if they believe Bailly-Maguire is the path forward then all the power to them I guess. I know thats a very aggressive center back pairing if nothing else. Lascelles gotta be worth 45-50 then if Maguire is that much. So Ashley would do 25

Such little faith We'll find another Joselu

    Fabian Schär

Cant complain about this on its own (obviously the transfer spending overall is a different conversation entirely).

Yeah not buying the Schar rumor. That is pittance for a decent player with top league experience. Although I guess he may have a few teams interested and might have contract leverage to make teams bid it up for his salary which means we wont be involved
  10. I saw that Dost re-signed with Sporting. I thought for sure someone was gonna take his wages and take a chance given he is on a free.

To think they could have kept Altidore and finally found his level this year

There are a few places I would like to see upgraded but in all honesty.. getting someone that can score goals (Mitro money) would make me feel a whole lot better or I could be convinced to feel a whole lot better (I think a lot of people would). Still feel like that is probably asking too much.

Yeah I remember seeing him last year and thinking geez he has fallen off (and then saw his age). I guess maybe some new leadership or something
  14. Liverpool have a whole new midfield IIRC...that might take a minute to get the balance for that and City will likely be a well oiled machine so I gotta say City but if Liverpool start fine then it should be a good race. I also think Spurs could make some signings that will keep them there. I think Sanchez is gonna become a top CB after getting a year of experience in the league. Should be entertaining across the board this year.
  15. Im shocked that the club hasnt been able to show a plan suitable to Rafa

The potential is there. Played 30 I think last year for Wolfsburg and bagged 6 goals. I think they used him out wide though. Kind of been tossed around a bit which isnt uncommon. At one point was the next big thing in Belgian national team even pushing Lukaku for minutes. Still only 23. Good size, good feet just has lacked that clinical finishing from what I have seen. Still would be a big leap above what the team has today in its plans. I cant see him being within price range though unless its a loan to buy deal.
  17. Pretty in depth piece on Yedlin from the US Federation page. Some quotes from Rafa in there. Not even really playing the sport proper till the age of 16 it seems. Pretty crazy actually given the restraints the American system has (I know this well being from America), that he would even make it as far as he has. Also can tell that within his game (lacks technical ability) but also lends credence to what I have always thought of him, that he will be a late bloomer compared to the average youngster playing this sport but that it will also limit his ceiling as a player. So I guess when I see him play I dont see a normal 24 year old like a Manquillo who grew up with a great pedigree of teams and coaching and the like. Anyways, just thought I'd share for anyone who cares to read it in his spare time cause I know I always like to see the bio's of where guys come from...learn their story a little bit more. https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2018/07/12/07/32/20180716-feat-mnt-rising-emerging-faces-deandre-yedlin-newcastle-united-usmnt
  18. Yeah the team definitely needed something more in the midfield. 2nd to last in shots on target per 90 minutes at 0.9. Only team that was worse in that category was Iran. Tells me that the set piece taking was great and efficiency. Its too bad that there wasnt more in the midfield to get that shot on target stat closer to middle of the pack...probably would have been playing later today.

Was really good two seasons ago. Though that is probably an outlier. If he showed that ability though then is well worth it. Considering that is not very much in this era. Can definitely see why Rafa would want him. I try and think...where would WBA been last season had Rafa been managing that roster.... and I gotta think right around where we ended up. Has wonderful delivery IIRC on the cross and could allow for more direct play with Kenedy-Phillips out wide. Just need that #9 who can do things in the air and have work rate.

Didnt Rafa say something like for a striker who can score its 25 million and for one who can kick the ball forward its 15...then we signed Joselu for like 5 a week later
  21. I would take Rondon from WBA. Has a 16 million relegation clause and in this day and age that is pretty much a bargain for someone who knows the league and is a capable player. I feel West Brom have never given him much to work with and he is very industrious if nothing else. Watched him quite a bit for Venezuela, who are usually out matched, and he does a great job for them.
  22. I would definitely focus money elsewhere at this time. Probably go one more year cause I suspect as the attack improves and the team improves he will as well. I dont think the fact that his contributions statistically going forward have been against better sides because they are willing to commit guys forward and we can counter. Now if a huge influx of money were to come (please) and the attack gets squared away then Im all for upgrading. either way is fine. He would be a fine backup to have and I remember he did look good for Spurs against Atletico right before he transferred over at LB so he could conceivably backup both sides. Like I said though I dont think a RB upgrade should be a priority with limited funds..atleast not yet.
  23. Gayle has been solid during this stretch. I think we all would rather him be a 30 minute guy late in games (seems what he is meant for at this level) with a #9 like Slimani playing from the start. Obviously looking towards next year with that. Gayle does a lot of work that helps create the spaces for Perez, Kenedy, and Ritchie to do what they do. Shelvey-Diame has been a great duo since this run of form started. Onward and upward. Could we get to 50?
  24. Everyone on the pitch earned their pay today and that was well deserved. Looking like a proper mid table Premier League side. Both goals were well worked. Now about getting a new owner and seeing what Rafa can do with some backing. Better TEAM won today.
