I'm not in any way defending Bruce. Those were the some of the worst years in the clubs history. Just comparing the league form this season with a much stronger squad under Howe. To be in that ballpark is a huge underperformance this season and it is right to have serious question marks around our current manager.
-
2019/20 we lost 16 games under Bruce 2020/21 we lost 17 games under Bruce 2025/26 we've lost 14 games with 6 remaining under Howe
-
I like Tino, but i think he's way more replaceable than Hall is.
-
Agreed. You just become a Brentford/Brighton then. Capable of good seasons but everyone knows their best performers each season move onto better things. No matter how much of a 'big club' we'd think we are, you sell your best players every summer and you're in that mid table sellers club league.
-
x2 considering removing X for the summer. Could even go mega old school and buy newspapers/SSN yellow banner instead.

Isak's offside goal against Arsenal Carabao 2nd leg of semi

Been impressed with his upturn in form over the past couple of months (the bar started low) but the giveaway pass and strolling back into position to leave space for the winner is totally unacceptable. He's come on fresh in a derby and not sprinted back into shape after THAT pass!
-
The 7 games left are all fixtures that we struggle in. Expected to win and take a game to the other teams in 6/7 of them? We take the cowardly low risk football option.
-
I think he will get until the end of the season now unless we really do go rotten with results (could happen as its games we're expected to win other than Arsenal A). My issue also goes higher than Howe, do i trust the club to make the change the day after the season ends with a new manager/summer recruitment plan lined up during a World Cup summer? Absolutely not.

Took the lead at: West Ham away Brentford away Chelsea home 2-0 Liverpool away On top of those above also. Said all season we can't defend our box and our best form of defence is pressing higher. At least 20 yards higher. But the manager then starts Trippier and Burn to negate that?
-
Burn and Trippier a huge problem in us trying to squeeze teams man for man at home. Team selection which included these 2 was baffling yesterday. Botman wouldn't dare follow anyone into midfield or even further up the pitch as we've seen before as leaving Burn 1 v 1 holds too much fear. Same applies to Trippier/Tino. 1 clean sheet this season (v Wolves) with Dan Burn starting at CB.

Only one who can take credit due to this. Least of our worries at the moment.

5 years and 10 transfer windows you'd expect the squad to be shaped well enough to be able to change things in games where plan A isn't working, no? We rely on big games as underdogs to show our best performances, if you want to make the next step to consistently hit the top 6 you simply can't be that sort of team. For 18 months now even our home games against bottom half sides have been a complete and utter slog. When did we last win a premier league game comfortably? Everton away is all I can think of out of 31 games this season. I get that the premier league is competitive across the board this season but i also believe we have a squad capable of much more than stumbling into wins at SJP against bottom half sides and our poor away form. Slight tangent from the quoted post, admittedly.

He got it spot on with 10 men last night. 2nd half we played a 4-4-1 but our wingers slightly higher than cm's to force the ball to their full backs (who can't create naff all). Really nullified them considering they had the 1 man advantage.
-
Everton will low block the life out of us and play for counter/set pieces only. First goal crucial
-
I've noticed Ramsdale's game is always chaos. Every movement is chaotic . It's almost like he doesn't know his angles as something can be 5-10 yards wide and he will scramble a sprint across his goal to still dive to cover it.
-
Was really frustrated that our subs made us worse on Saturday. They didn't bring any intensity/extra running which you'd expect from a sub getting 20-30 mins. Thought Joelinton, Barnes, Murphy and Osula all just went through the motions
-
We looked a better team with Gordon through the middle rather than Nick or Wissa. His pressing and running in behind is freeing up a lot of space for others and in turn makes Elanga/Willock/Ramsey look better imo
-
Zero press on goal 2, pardon? Wissa is literally right up his arse to force the error and Gordon is ready to pounce on the GK/other CB. It was a full team press majority of the first half
-
Insanity that he played on for best part of 10 minutes after going off the first time.
