His long kicking (when not under pressure) is more than fine. His touch, and associated ‘playing out’, not so much.
-
Can’t kick for shit. Doesn’t matter cos he just catches everything and gives it to people who can.
-
Does he fit the intensity that our midfield play at now? Not saying he doesn’t, haven’t watched him closely enough, or looked at the stats to make a judgment either way. He’s obviously absolute quality, but as Man Utd have shown, signing players “cos they’re good”, doesn’t cut it nowadays. You need them to fit into your way of playing. Mind you, Eddie got Shelvey hounding the opposition superbly, so even if it’s not his current strength, it soon would be.

As I’m on holiday at the minute I had to sit and watch the Wolves match in the hotel bar next to a Wolves fan (yes, it’s a hard life…). Soon as they brought Hwang on he was full of “not this useless prick”. Sure enough he teed Maxi up and said Wolves fan deemed him the “worst player ever to play for Wolves”.

When was the last time (if ever) Man Utd signed one of our reserves?

Tranmere really weren’t that bad man. The only really ‘bad’ tackle was the one on Darlow. The lad swinging his arm on Lascelles was a bit reckless, but even Lascelles said himself it was probably an accident. There was nothing in the Kraft one really, he was just (incredibly) unlucky. Wolves committed more fouls against us than Tranmere did.

Yeah. There’s a lot to be said for players that clearly have massive personality, like Bruno. But give me a centre-forward who’s a cold-hearted emotionless killer.
-
Fair point. Could have played them both at Brentford and still got beat.

It only becomes a ‘bad/terrible/shite’ deal if and when Pope gets injured. Up until that point, it’s money for nothing. Hardly anyone has a quality second keeper these days. The days are Given and Harper are becoming less and less.

The thing is that’s a very short-term, simplistic view of looking at things. I would dare say if they just let opposition roam free in the city, it would very sharply become the norm, and there’d be no issues. We’ve seen it with the way they’ve policed the mackems the last couple of times here. Instead of escorting them in a convoy they just said ‘sort yourselves out’ (albeit still with a very heavy police presence around the city). Despite everyone predicting “carnage”, pretty much everything was fine.

Because that’s the way it should be. 95% of fans of any team are sound and just want a drink and a bit of a laugh with opposition fans (away from the stadium and surrounding area). It’s a massive shame whoever’s in charge of what happens in Wolverhampton on match days still thinks it’s the 1980’s.

Absolutely, but age and his contract situation were probably the main drivers. He’s improved the first XI and any signing that does that at the minute is a win.
-
He’s an upgrade. No question. Will always look ropey as fuck with the ball at his feet though.

FFS, I’m going to Turkey tomorrow. Hotel WiFi better be half decent.

Baaally sitting by the phone…

Not unless he’s had a mentality shift

When you do what they did, with a man like Jesse Lingard, they’ve gone down in my estimation. I would love it, love it, if we told them to fuck off.

It’s usually approximately a month before. If you’ve got a membership you won’t have any problems getting a ticket for both, if not you might need a hand for the Chelsea game. November’s TV games are supposed to be announced on 13th Sept, so that should confirm the Chelsea date, and I’d be fairly sure the Palace match will be Wednesday 9th. Keep an eye on the Tickets forum in here.

Yep, if it’s a loan, there definitely needs to be a staying up clause….

If anyone’s really, really bored…. the full match of Sweden v Slovakia from the Euros is available. He was MotM and that was the first time I’d seen him and thought, ‘this lad looks elite level’. If you’d told me we’d be on the verge of signing him a little over a year later…. Sweden v Slovakia

Tbf that kid came with exactly the same for Ekitike, so he’s probably ripped from somewhere ?
-
@Ando7delivers….. Unbelievable signing this mind.
-
It would be fairly mad for it to be anything like serious given he played on for 25 minutes in the second half and didn’t look to be in a great deal of discomfort.
-
Not if they get Wout Weghorst in as replacement.
