  1. And as a result they have the most uncompetitive league in European football. But at least they can watch it cheap.
  2. Are you in the ticket portal? book.nufc.co.uk
  3. They’ll sharp open the upper tiers if the lower sell out
  4. Depends which area and who the opposition are, but the middle of Gallowgate, is, I think, around £36 - £45.
  5. This is the problem. A quick look a other PL teams pricing for friendlies against similar standard opposition shows £20 is about the ‘industry standard’ price (think Bournemouth are doing £15 v Sociedad). But we’re so used to everything about the club being de-valued by Ashley, that we just expected £10 tickets. And like anything in life, if you have to pay more than you were expecting for something, you’re not happy about it.
  6. One of the current board members advocating a boycott of the friendlies due to the pricing. Suggest the Trust need to distance themselves from this and point out it’s a personal opinion asap….. Edit: Ah, he’s done that himself in a follow-up tweet….
  7. They haven’t announced anything yet. Keep an eye on the tickets section of the forum and it’ll be posted in there when they do.
  8. There was never an intention to buy a stake whilst Ashley was there. I realise that isn’t really the main point of your post, so I’m being slightly pernickety, but anyway.
  9. Link to that Hayden interview I mentioned. Can’t be arsed to find out whereabouts in it he speaks about players moving on, but it’s in there somewhere. Whole thing was a fairly decent listen anyway: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/if-newcastle-dont-want-me-or-want-to-sell-me-then-that/id1464558689?i=1000546871907
  10. Ronaldo is ego-driven to achieve success, trophies and personal accolades. Granted, that’s massively contributed in making him the player he has been, but it’s not because of his love of the beautiful game or any particular club. Turns out Man Utd are shite now and probably unlikely to win much, see you later lads.
  11. I think there’s a lot more to it than being about whether players will ‘take a pay cut’. I seem to remember Hayden speaking about it in that (good) lengthy interview he did with some podcast people I’d never heard of before or since. To paraphrase him he said people think it’s just like playing Championship Manager and you can just ship a player out whenever you want, but they don’t realise that players often have young families, so any move (regardless of finances) has to be right for them too. Are they happy to move away from any family/support network? Are they happy to move their kids school etc. Everyone was going mad at Clark not taking a loan move in January. But maybe he didn’t want to spend 5/6 days a week away from his kids (assuming he has some) just to play for a team for 5 months when there was a reasonable chance he might not sign for them anyway.
  12. Looks like they’re still available?
  13. You’re right in that it’s likely to be the only way to get a ticket moving forward, but to less clued-up fans, it’s a lot harder sell to say ‘give us £40 and that’ll give you a chance to pay more money at a later date’, as opposed to a ST where you know exactly what you’re getting (even if considerably more expensive).
  14. Not sure whether they’ll say how many they’ve sold like, so might not get to find out.
  15. Indeed. Be surprised if we’ve sold anywhere near 10k memberships today tbh.
  16. I think West Ham recently did 10% (?) of away tickets as ballots. Not sure how well it worked though? I’ll try and do some digging as to what the issues were.
  17. Let’s not go down the who’s to blame for Mike Ashley route again… We’re all friends again remember ?
  18. I wouldn’t place too much stock in the quoted queue numbers being the number of actual people attempting to buy a membership…
  19. Might be looking a tad far ahead there mate….?
  20. Hasn’t been confirmed either way. General consensus is they are not limited, but some people suggesting otherwise.
  21. It appeared they weren’t particularly until last season….then there seemed to be a definite spike in the uptake (although that was never properly confirmed).
  22. If they’ve replaced the ‘all corporates can buy X number of away tickets for any game’ with a ballot system, that would be excellent, as presumably means more tickets for standard ST holders, and subsequently selling out at lower points thresholds. Big if obviously…
  23. There’s probably not, but that hasn’t been explicitly confirmed, so obviously no-one wants to risk it.
