Maybe that had an effect, maybe it didn’t, but the likes of Arron Hydeo Hyde could still just have returned them to the club. Hardly worth losing all your points over a £40 ticket.
-
He advertised it at FV, but whether it would have ended up going for that is another matter… You’re right about Marseille though. Definitely the most tickets I’ve seen being offered for any away game since the takeover.
-
Credit to him for everything you’ve just outlined. But it’s a fairly damning indictment of the state of Scottish goalkeeping that a 43 year old is the countries No.1 choice, and from my limited knowledge, it doesn’t seem like there’s anyone particularly close in terms of challenging him.

Yeah, it’s absolutely crazy to just openly try and shift tickets on a public platform, if you have any number of LPs. What I will say though, is that the punishment of losing ALL of your LPs, regardless of how many you have, doesn’t quite sit right with me. Someone could lose 3 points, and the next person 300, both for the same offence. Is that right/fair? Ultimately though, we all know the rules, so…

Fair enough. But if 95%+ of the Wales squad were born in England, you could at least see why people might question their independence, regardless of ancestry.
-
I’m sure the majority on here are sensible enough not to openly resell tickets on a public platform (regardless of them being FV) but they are definitely cracking down on it.

If you win your Nations League group and don’t qualify for the WC outright or for the playoffs, you still automatically get a place in the playoffs. See Sweden, North Macedonia, Romania and Northern Ireland.

So does it really feel like an independent, sovereign country? I can’t be arsed to start a debate about the merits of these principalities / territories having their own teams, and if you’re all for them, then fine, but surely you could see why someone could take a different view, even if you disagree?

Iraq v DR Congo in Mexico. Mint.
-
Logistically probably difficult, if teams (and fans) don’t know where they’re playing until days before. Maybe they could have pre-arranged a neutral venue, a bit like they do with the Nations League finals I suppose. Still seems a chow on though. As an aside, where the fuck do these inter-continent playoffs that Congo are in take place? Is that neutral?
-
Strong chance one those qualifiers ends up being DR Congo’s final opponent, isn’t there?
-
There’s no international break between now and March? *and I feel confident in saying on behalf of the vast majority of fans, like fuck do we want anymore.
-
It’s definitely one way for the vast majority of fans under 40.

I’ve always said the only way to make a real significant, lasting dent in the tour market, was government intervention. Like you say, far easier said than done, but they’ve had a decent crack at shutting down illegal streaming, so if there’s the same determination with this, they should be able to make inroads.
-
Indeed, but Nigeria and Cameroon are both significantly shorter and they’ve just knocked them out of WC qualifying, so I think it’s a very difficult tournament to predict once you hit the knockout rounds.
-
They’ll be second favourites after Senegal, so you’d think they’d qualify to the knockouts. AFCON games are often really tight though, 0-0 or 1-0 either way, so it can sometimes only take a bit of bad luck and you’re struggling.

From being in the stadium when we played them, I thought, visually, the yellow wall looked great. But do agree the noise, as with a lot of European stadiums, didn’t feel as authentic as British stadiums. I guess it’s a question of do you just want constant sound, or do you want sound that’s directly related to what’s happening on the pitch?
-
I agree. Hopefully increases the chances of him being willing to skip the AFCON.
