    Sunderland

Class innit. As others have said, it is the most Sunderland thing ever. I didn't think they'd top that first series on Netflix, but they have. Just need to blow promotion now. That would be unfortunate.
  2. I fully expect sale talk to start once the season is finished, basically whenever any transfer window pops up. All part of the process now.

Man, that's some cruel way to lose. 1-0, 1-1 with minutes to go, 2-1 down, 2-2 with minutes to go and then lose it on Pens. Talk about twisting the knife.

    Alan Shearer

He did all of that with two career ending injuries too.
  6. thing is before if Jose had still been there would they have won as many matchs as they have? doubt it personally and he set a man utd record for consecutive away wins. Maybe he might not work out long term but he's got the players and fans on board and deserves a chance at least. I guess.
  7. So he drew or won against teams you'd expect Man U to beat or at least draw against. He beat an under strength PSG after a last minute pen, and lost the two games that were any real challenge or had any real significance to them. Fair enough.

    U23s & Academy

Liam Bramley new U23s Assistant Coach. All is looking good. Just need Neil Winskill to get the Head of Academy Development position now. Youth Development in the UK has a lot of lip service, with little follow through. There are great coaches out there, doing a great job, but that's the issue - they're coaches. They still have people above them making the key decisions that don't have the confidence to give youth a chance. The balance between results and development is still heavily tilted towards results. We all know youth players only get a chance if a player above them is injured or suspended for the most part. If they don't impress above and beyond the expectation then they're dropped as soon as the established player is fit again. You can't just 'play well'. I haven't read No Hunger in Paradise, I've only just started to gain an interest in football again in all honesty. I totally switched off for 2 years.
  9. Be those times we beat Barcelona innit. Probably has Shola on one buttock and Tino on the other.

    English football to a tee.
  11. Absolute knacker trying to get on the pitch after what happened last weekend.
  12. I thought I'd check... yup. Which team (on average) has Mike Dean shown the most red cards to? Newcastle United. We're #2 in his career total of red cards shown, too. Chelsea are 1st. We're 8th overall in Mike Dean's career on penalties awarded against too
  13. Not as if he'd have to worry about his hair blowing into his face.

If we can keep Ben Dawson, Liam Bramley and Neil Winskill together we'll have a great core of coaches focused on coach development as well as player development. They won't allow standards to drop.
  15. He jumped, won a header for a knockdown to Rondon. I mean... what is happening.

You can imagine. Aye. Let's suppose it came to light the club had a horrible history of bullying and mishandling of internal grievances and cases of depression, I'm sure that's something they wouldn't want the FA, PFA, or any of the charity groups that work with the club's Foundation to know about.

They talked about this briefly on talksport and SHOCK HORROR they were all in support of Beardsley, saying that "you can't talk to kids like you used to in this politically correct environment" "they've lost a great mind". Utter bollocks. If I was to guess. Club agreed to keep Beardsley's reputation intact, and not mention the investigations into discrimination/racist behaviour. Beardsley agreed not to publicly bring up any internal grievances or sue for unfair dismissal. All players involved have since been released by the club too, strangely. 'Both win' - Beardsley isn't a racist, club never employed a racist. Simply Beardsley no longer works for the club and is free to find work else where, with a glowing letter of recommendation on NUFC Letter head, signed by Lee Charnley himself.

I can imagine he was paid off, with an NDA agreeing that neither party will comment further on the issue. I can imagine.
  19. Unreal. Agility and Balance. Switching from running to dribbling. Reminds me of a young Matty Pattison.
  20. If you airbrush the hands out, it clearly looks like a goalkeeping error.
