Which will be hard as the only natural holding midfielder we have is Issac Hayden.........
-
It could be worse, we could be Chelsea.
-
Hard to believe we had a run of ten or so clean sheets last season. As someone has already said, that red card against Liverpool has ruined him.
-
Because the alternatives were Longstaff and Anderson. Barnes aside, we have literally no-one who can come on and make a difference in midfield/on the wing.
-
Looks like he's wearing flip flops when the ball's at his feet.
-
Yes, but we've only had three decent halves out of the eight we've played. We're still obviously going to win more than we lose this season, but we'll be miles off the top four due to lack of any squad depth.
-
You can't start three number 8's in midfield every week, it's just too unbalanced. We could do with a prime Tiote in there now. Longstaff and Anderson are just not good enough when you're chasing a game.
-
7/10 for me. Tonali and Barnes look like being cracking signings for what we paid, plus hopefully in Livramento and Hall we have our future first choice full backs sorted. Downside is we still look weak in the RW position and we have no real quality cover at CB.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

Obviously they have Mbappe, but beyond that they're not that good. I'd rather play Milan at home first though, I think they'll be the most beatable team. -
Decent mid-table Championshit clogger for them.
-
If this Salah transfer goes through that would be the thick end of £200m the dippers will have got from Saudi clubs for three ageing (albeit very good) players. Means they could spend a fortune over the next few seasons without troubling FFP.

Yes, would be easier than PSG, Real Madrid and AC Milan....... -

What is the easiest possible draw then? I'd say Feyenoord/RB Leipzig/Crvena Zvezda. -
Christ that 2-0 under McClaren man, everyone was expecting us to get murdered off them that game.
-
Decent performance but the better side won. Howe needs to have a word with Tindall like, he's like Phil Brown on acid but even more perma-tanned.
-
Mediocre keeper who peaked in the 11/12 season and it was downhill from there. Mystified why he still gets so many plaudits on here.
-
Obviously, but it's a bridge we will have to cross at some point to get onto Man City's level, unless we manage to trump the likes of Brighton in the scouting of great players at bargain prices.
-
This. Let's say for sake of arguement Isak or Bruno have tremendous seasons and attract bids of £100m plus next summer. Yes the money means nothing to us in terms of it being needed to fund transfers, but it would open the door to us spending three times that on replacements without falling foul of FFP.
-
It would be a dream come true to get them in the 3rd round of the FA cup. Home or away, I'd play the strongest team possible, even if we had a CL game 3 days later.
-
Sold to get Barnes through the door, who after 30 mins of playing has half the goals and assists Maxi got in the whole of last season.
-
Chelsea are taking the piss now like. I know they've sold a few as well but their net spend must still be something like £500m over the last couple of years.
-
I think that Chris Wood miss vs Sheff Wed has led you to erasing him from your memory.
