I think you've quoted the only two to have done so in the last twenty years, and for me Toney is a Mitrovic/Gayle'esque "too good for the championship but not good enough for the PL" player.
-
Because I believe he's not currently good enough for the PL.
-
Aye, that makes me a mackem then I guess?
-
Haway man we all know friendly games have next to no bearing on anything. Don't get me wrong, I hope he turns out to be the next Chris Waddle but he should be nowhere near the first team bar the league cup game(s).
-
I'm sorry like but the gap between the fourth tier and the first tier is huge. Loan him to a Championship team for the whole season and see how he gets on.
-
Looks about right except swap Arsenal with Chelsea and Soton with Brentford.
-
Fourth time lucky?
-
Nah, I think he'd get rotated in for maybe 15 league starts against the weaker teams and/or after midweek european games. Just look at Grealish last season for instance.
-
What would the point of that be? He won't be any cheaper if he has a good first half of the season.
-
And lets not forget we "paid" 40m for Joelinton three years ago..........
-
His goal scoring record is worse than Wilsons and hes gone right off the boil since that injury last season.
-
Is any player? Compared to what City paid for Grealish he would be a bargain. They might be trying to squeeze an extra 5-10m out of us due to the "Richest club in the world" tax but I'd say 50m is the going rate for him atm.
-
We're not getting him for less than £60m imo.
-
So was Craig Bellamy.....
-
That's down the back of the sofa money for our owners in the grand scheme of things.
-
I don't think the fee is the issue tbh, its the way it'll be structured. Leicester are skint and will probably want the majority or all of it up front whereas we'd probably like to structure it over 4/5 years to lessen the effects of FFP.
-
He can like or lump being back up, he knows at his age hes not going to get as long a contract or be on as much as he currently is here. If he really wants gametime he will take the drop in pay for a move elsewhere. Yes Darlow is shite but how many clubs (even the top six) can say they have a "top class" 2nd choice keeper?
-
£50m plus Dubravka would be a decent deal for us imo. Grealish is pretty much on par with Madison and the same age when he joined City for £100m. Now is not the time to be tight arses.
-
Can't argue with that like. I had to laugh at one of the mackems on that Netflix show, showed him drinking it straight out of the can at home on xmas day, he didn't even have the decency to put it into a glass first.
-
Was he though? In isolation his two goals gained us 4 extra points, but even without those we would have stayed up comfortably anyway. In hindsight we should've just kept the £25M and played Dwight Gayle (or anyone else) instead.
-
It's a shame about Lewis considering Liverpool were sniffing around at the time we got him. Totally destroyed by the fat buffoon.
-
I'd put McClaren above those two in terms of results achieved compared to the squad at his disposal. Obviously though he was behind them in the cuntishness stakes.
-
The irony with Pardew and Bruce is they both took clubs to FA cup finals and then lost them from winning positions, but while they managed us they put out the weakest teams possible.
-
Meh. I think Manquillo is the better back up option but he's been Dummettesque in the injury stakes lately, so its a sensible decision to reward Kraps efforts and move Manq on instead.
-
Based on the fact he's been the only player to go backwards since we got shot of Bruce. Or do you disagree?
