He does a great job of convincing people of that, absolutely. But his "news" breaks consistently a few mins or hours after other well known, genuine, journalists. He's an aggregator of news. He's not ITK.

We signed Trippier 3 days ago, and have made bids for (and for all your know, could sign this week) several really good players. Give your head a shake.

Don’t have a problem with Wood if he’s not the only forward we’re bringing in. We need depth. But I wouldn’t be bringing him in as a first choice starter.

It’s been a mixed bag from him really. Performances against Man Utd, Burnley, Norwich, Brentford…even to some extent Man City first half and Liverpool, have seen very good spells. But today was poor (as was Arsenal, Leicester). I’m 100% behind him because I think most of todays issues were down to having zero fit strikers at the club, and a few players who are so drastically lacking in confidence. And I would also agree with him to an extent that we didn’t necessarily play horrendously…it was just a serious lack of cutting edge and the same old defenders making the same old mistakes (because they’re shit / lacking confidence). And then it being like a cup final for them, and a hindrance to us. More than happy to give him my full backing and reassess at the end of the season.

Ramsey is a massive upgrade on our CM like (apart from big Joelinton). If he can stay fit he’s a really solid signing. But that’s a decent sized if.

The Twitter mob are the worst, but not quite as bad as the Twitter transfer ITKs. ”Trust me, I’ll have lots of positive news soon for Newcastle” translates to “Please don’t unfollow me”. If he had that positive news he would share it. It’s clear as day to me that he’s just another one of those transfer wannabes. He’s basically Jim “my sources tell me” White, but with a fancier name and more control over what he decides to spout.

Romano’s sources are mainly other news outlets. He’s just a very clever summariser of transfer news, making it out he’s some kind of ITK.

I don’t think anyone, especially not that Romano fella, has any actual knowledge. So perhaps he is interested but is keeping his options open.

Went on a stadium tour today with the kids. The guide, for what it’s worth, said they expected Trippier to arrive at the ground around 4.30pm. So a few hours of photo shoots and videos would probably see an announcement around now or in the morning.
