  1. Where did you read that pal? Absolutely brilliant business if true.
  2. By far the best I've seen Belgium play in this tournament. Definitely stepping up in front of a higher calibre opposition.
  3. We'll have to just wait and see Will hopefully make for a more interesting Premier League.
  4. Games against mortals, I meant. His attitude must be a joy for managers like. Seems the type you barely have to even motivate; just goes out, knows his job and does it.
  5. Not sure if aimed at me, but that's not the case. I have no horse in this race. I just heard many people predicting lofty finishes for them, top half even and I just think it's a bit premature before seeing how they respond to the step up. I have no problem with Wolves surviving as long as we're above them I understand my lengthy engagement with Mandoon and a few others in this thread may make it seem like I'm invested in Wolves not doing well this season but it couldn't be further from the truth.
  6. Unchallenged as the best DM in the world at present imo. Nobody even gets close to the work he gets through every single game. He's absolutely insane. Eveywhere, at all times. Don't know if I've ever seen a player with his innate postional sense at stopping danger. To think we were gonna bid for him before Leicester. Great stuff. We had lined up a bid, yeah? Textbook NUFC. I believe if you take him out of the Leicester side that won the league that year, they wouldn't have won it. He was a good 30/40% of the reason for them being so formidable. I can't really remember watching the likes of Lass Diarra & Makelele at their peak, but surely neither of them could have been considerably better than Kante like, he's gotta be one of the best in recent history at his role.

  8. I thought I heard him say that... His commentary today has been bizarre at times like. Doing skills with the ball in a game of football = being provocative apparently
  9. It's all speculation my man. It's just my prediction that Wolves won't be as good as what people think. Smooth sailing for them last season, it's all about character now as they move in unchartered waters. It seems naive to believe big name signings + winning the championship = premier league survival/success. This league is about having big characters and that much remains to be seen. Ask me again when Wolves hit their inevitable rough patch this coming season - seeing how they react to that will be telling. Sure, but I mean to label three signings as "too much" is crazy. One is a keeper for a start, and they had Ruddy in goal. Yeah but you're changing the goal posts, you only said the other day that they didn't have any PL level players so they'd struggle, now you're saying if they sign big players they'll struggle. It doesn't make any sense. I saw them a fair bit last season, and saw a live game, and I can tell you they are extremely well organized, and tactially very very good. Boly was one of the bet CB's I've seen, extremely dominant. People were saying this exact same thing last season, "no way these players can do it in the championship/you need champ experience" and it was as bollocks then as it is now. I personally think it shows plenty of "character" to win the championship with a grueling schedule and to stay on the top. Of course every team hits a rough patch, but all I've ever said is they won't be in relegation trouble. Fair enough man. Although I didn't necessarily say they don't have any PL players mind, I said they have no experience in the league throughout the playing staff & coaching staff. I can't help but see that as a big looming question mark over them, maybe I'm wrong for thinking that, idk, it just feels an important factor many aren't considering 'cause they were so dominant in the Championship. I don't doubt some of their players are of PL quality, but I think at some point next season they will find themselves, as a group, in a bit of mess with pressure building, big names & the confidence built from last season can shrink quite rapidly in those circumstances. It will be interesting to see how they respond. We'll have to just see what happens, you might be right but equally I might be too. My thoughts are that they'll be closer to a relegation scrap than certain safety.
  10. Considering most people thought we'd lose to Colombia pretty favourably I imagine. Not to mention most were incredibly negative about our chances coming into the tournament, don't see any result changing anyone's viewpoint on this tournament to be anything other than a success tbh. Did they? From what I remember people were already talking about the semi's when we got Colombia
  11. A fun few weeks but ultimately not that impressive given we'll have played games against 2 very poor teams, 3 average ones and went out.
  12. That blue staff/training top looks very nice. Also physical evidence of the red lettering. Wonder who our number 5 is going into this season? Lejeune changing number perhaps? EDIT: Sorry for the duplicate, I didn't read the last page.
  13. True enough. Only problem with Southgate on the evidence thus far is a possible lack of tactical flexibility or reluctance to brave a change. When one team is happy to play the dirty or negative way, the other team has the opportunity to change things up tactically, remaining cool and thus gaining an advantage. We didn't see that against Colombia, if anything we were drawn into playing their game. I think we will come up against something similar with Sweden (although not the foul play necessarily) and I'm interested to see what the manager does if Sweden are comfortably defending against our attacks. Do we risk pens again or do we be proactive, change the flow of the game and punish them. That stuff is down to the manager.
  14. I mean he's right in saying England have hardly been playing good football like. Apart from 20 minutes against Tunisia I think England have looked pretty ordinary and a little one-dimensional. Not terrible, but I wouldn't say particularly good either. I do get the impression they have a big performance to pull out against one of the bigger sides should they beat Sweden.
  15. Was going to Gladbach yesterday. Changes daily = Nobody knows what they're on about. I'll wait until there's actual confirmation before I panic too much.
