Aye but they're used to the Gignac, Giroud, Balotelli, Cavani, Brandao, Gomis's of the world

Is that a prerequisite to do well in the Prem? Did Hudds have a lot of it last season. I don't think we do see that time after time at all. All three sides who went down last season had loads of Prem experience. No, not necessarily. I just think it's hasty to suggest these lofty finishes for Wolves before seeing how their players take to a new league which is one hell of a step up generally from what they're used to. And regarding the second bit, I meant we see teams go down every single year with talented players, meaning there's clearly factors other than player ability to doing well in the PL. I mean I said they wont be in a relegation battle, which they won't be imo. They've got Neves who'd get in a top 6 side easily, better keeper than most around, them, Jota, Boly, Costa etc. The fact they dominated that league in such a fashion would suggest that they were a PL side playing at that level. Did you see them against City in the cup? Should have beat them. They do, but my point is PL experience isn't some fix all for teams. You necessarily need it to be a good side. I did yes, they played well, I'm not doubting that they're capable of doing so. That said, you can't really read too much into one cup tie - whether against City or anyone else; 38 games is much different proposition to just setting up for one. Those players you named played very well to decent in the Championship, there's not really much to suggest they'll definitely bring that same form to the PL. In fact it would be more accurate and supported by evidence that they most likely won't bring that exact same form and will have to adjust. Look at Dwight Gayle. I'm not saying they're relegation candidates, but I'd certainly lean more towards the suggestion that they will struggle to find the same form than I would to them breezing survival as many are suggesting. EDIT: FWIW - asides from ourselves, I'm more interested to see how Wolves will make the step up than I have been about any other Championship side in recent years. Really interesting stuff.

Never any doubt from Rakitic like.

Urgh, Jorgensen with the stuttered run up. Awful.
-
Love it when the keepers come out on top like.
-
They all do it man. Last 2 steps of the run up the keeper usually steps forward.
-
Composed as fuck.
-
Hope the Danes do it like.

Schmeichel

Dat save tho

Happens often I think. It's meant to be as the ball is struck the keeper can move, but oftentimes you see keepers move forward as the player takes his last few steps of the run up. Akinfeev done it just earlier today.

Good point. Psychologically in Denmark's favour now you would think.
-
Fully behind the Danes now. Awful from Modric.

Still bite us in the arse that we didn't even try to finish first get Japan. And it'd go down as a shite WC if we only beat Tunisia and Panama and then lose the only two decent teams we played Love the excuses coming out already Just face it we should have been trying to win every game man, nay such thing as an easy side of the tournament. Russia just knocked out one of the best sides in it earlier, after all. Anything can happen.

Hamza Choudhury Came on against us in the 2-1 win at the King Power. Think both of their centre mids got injured leading to an unexpected appearance from him. Diame & Shelvey schooled him, obviously.

What's funny? He will clearly have to start playing deeper and he has all of the technique, vision & passing range of Modric. Modric covers a ridiculous amount of ground, probably on average 60% more than Messi does. This includes a lot of closing down and running into space, something which Messi in his thirties is probably not going to all of a sudden start doing haha. Would love to see Messi in a more relaxed playmaking role as he gets older but Modric is pretty much a box-to-box player. That's fair enough. A deeper playmaking role is probably more of an accurate statement, resembling some of the work Modric does in a creative sense but perhaps not possessing his full repertoire for reasons you have corrected me on

Wolves have quite literally 0 PL experience in their set up, from players to coaches to manager. They will have to adjust & learn hellishly quick if they're to be as good as people are predicting. Sure they will have talent, but time after time we see that alone isn't enough. I genuinely believe many will be surprised.

Really like him Definitely seems suited to Rafa. Cheap I'm not so sure about, he's at Leipzig who utilise him as a centre forward and are a top Bundesliga side (nowadays at least).

A rare occasion. Both Euro finals, basically most match where the opposition is half decent and wants to actually play football. I agree that the matches where they're trying to break down teams can be dull, but how you come to the conclusion that that's their own fault and it's them that are playing anti-football is beyond me. For me, their anti-football is defined by their lack of ambition to score. If they get a lead, they are happy to deprive the opposition of the ball for the rest of the game. It's more reprehensible than a Russian/Greece anti-football manifestation because they have the quality (in fucking abundance) not to be that way and put on a show. They play the same way regardless of the score and even regardless of whether it's working. For me its success and failure in terms of the football being attractive or not is down to how the opposition play against them, again I don't see how that's their fault, when teams actually try and play football against them the games are often really good. Comparing them with Greece is hyperbolic crap like. The most they could be accused of is not having a plan b imo. It would probably be a fair criticism too, but when they're as good at they are at the passing game you can't blame them for playing that way regardless of opposition tactics. It's certainly not negative or 'anti-football', that's for sure.

I can see Messi playing a similar role to what Modric does as he moves into his latter years. Not quite as deep probably but similar in terms of role/contribution.
