All hypothetical of course, but who would take a swap deal for Cairney? I'm not so sure anymore, Cairney is supposed to have had a great season and has looked the part whenever I've seen him play, but I would also love to see Mitrovic get another shot here.

Newcastle United vs Arsenal - 15/04/18 @ 13:30 (Sky Sports)

Gayle done well today barring being caught offside a few times (one of which he was actually on like). I wouldn't be surprised or all that disappointed to see him play the first hour or so like - and I don't really rate him. -
Should score there Raheem. City looking unreal here.

Florian Lejeune (now playing for Rayo Vallecano)

Really starting to see the quality he showed early on on a consistent basis now. Can't be many better partnerships in the league than him & Lascelles at the minute. -
Ayozé Pérez (now playing for Villarreal)

What a first post. Class today Perez like, aside from his goal contributions he linked well with Gayle in the first half especially and allowed us to keep hold of the ball. -
Shows how poor the standard outside of the top 6 has been this season. Even in the top 6 at times too with Arsenal & Chelsea looking poor in large spells. I still can't work out how Man United have stayed 2nd, ahead of Liverpool and Spurs, despite them both being far better teams playing far better football. Like him or loathe him, Mourinho is probably a key factor in it. I seem to remember them going on a massive unbeaten streak & rarely conceding goals not long before we played & beat them a month or so ago. Liverpool deserve that second place spot purely based on entertainment & attacking quality though, in my mind atleast.

Feels odd putting this in a thread titled 'not worthy', but Le Havre & France Under-19's defender Samba Diop has sadly passed away aged just 18. I hate reading news like this http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43680520

It was a dire half of football that, for what is meant to be a proper heated, passionate derby. 0/10 wouldn't watch again.

Lee Dixon is an insufferable commentator. All he does is talk about himself, such a misery

Yeah, Blackpool is like if Atlantic City was overrun by zombies. Those cheap flights to Spain broke its back. Always wondered where the dark undertones of the Bruce Springsteen song of the same name came from. Didn't realise Atlantic City was a glitzy casino boardwalk kinda thing. Streets lined with neon darkness it would seem.

Sounds rank, will probably do okay though. Liverpool should brush them aside.
-
No shots on target for City. Wonder what the odds will have been for that prior to kick-off.
-
Fair play Liverpool like. Class result.

Having missed all three goals due to getting distracted with work, it's been a pretty flat game from what I've seen. Second leg should be quality given the scoreline though.

Wouldn't bother my arse with Abraham personally, would much rather we looked abroad or at least gave Mitrovic a run after a good development stint. Agreed. We would be mad to go for Abraham as our first choice striker at this stage. 4 goals in 25 for Swansea? Nowhere near good enough for what we need like. Nothing says he's better than Gayle or Mitrovic, in fact they both probably have better records than him lately.

It's the flop at the end

Most of their play is so heavily reliant on McGeady who himself isn't very good. They also have no genuine pace on the wings willing to carry the ball forward and be more direct. Everything seems to start with McGeady centrally, goes out wide and then backwards straight away. They should be looking to start two of Asora, Maja or Ejaria every game if they're to have a chance like. Far too pedestrian otherwise.

Other than City & Liverpool who we've played twice each, I don't think we have to really worry about coming up against the other sides in the division. I think they would all struggle to break our defence down at present. The likes of Chelsea and Arsenal are hardly daunting prospects this year.

Threaded a few good passes towards Gayle/Perez yesterday. Improving all the time going forward, been brilliant at the back for some time now.

His control was unreal. There was one where there was a big hoofed high ball out and he just killed it dead with his first touch. Amazing. Stoke at home. Tiote with the pass
