I completely agree. But some people are really fucking touchy over these Croatian players' comments No doubt about it. Are they not more touchy over being called touchy and being told to 'get over it' though? I dinna like, it's maybe a factor sure, but to even raise the "it's not coming home" thing as a grudge to hold with Croatia is sad as fuck, it's all an in-joke until someone else uses it against us and all of sudden they're being arseholes, howay man I have no issue with that like I'm assuming that was a blatant light hearted wind-up. Some do though, and it's not unreasonable to suggest that's being too touchy or easily-offended (which is what that post was aimed at, maybe we're referring to completely different things here?)

Yup. Starting to think all these foreigners are just thick as fuck. Brexit seems more appealing by the minute. Holy shit man, I can't believe how touchy people are getting because a Croatian player said "it's not coming home" with a smile on his face. Jesus christ Don't be daft man. I wasn't replying to Semtex as such. I just think being offended by an opposition player playing us off with our own 'in-joke' is ludicrous

At least in 4 years time when he's winning the World Cup with Spain we can go "we made him, 1/11th of the that trophy is ours".
-
It's not really half accurate from his perspective though is it? He played England once and they spent a large portion of the game playing poor football. You can forgive him for thinking this 'new-look' England he was expecting was a load of nonsense.
-
What you running up their arses for? We hoofed it loads in the 2nd half, aye, but suggesting this England side isn’t different is not an accurate assesment. Because I don't think it's a harsh or unreasonable a comment at all. He's saying once they put us under pressure we resorted to hoofing it long. That's exactly what happened. Sure we've played a different system this World Cup and it hasn't been business as usual for England at times. But last night they got their first proper test against an equally strong squad and we ran out of ideas fast. Would our players have slagged the Croatians off if we'd won? It's pathetic and I hope France smash them to bits. I don't know, perhaps - but let's not make this a nationality thing. Deeney's remarks towards Arsenal last season? I'm sure Lascelles also criticised the opposition post-match at some point last season despite having won.

Shelvey, there's a reason he's played for mid table and relegation teams his entire career since leaving Liverpool. Sure he's a nice passer but there's so much more to the game than that. If Shelvey is what we need then we have problems, i feel bad saying this as a Newcastle fan since i was 4 years old but just being honest he's not good enough. Aye, that's why you have partnerships. Shelvey is the best passer of the ball in the country by a distance. Passing is a huge part of the duty of a midfielder. If he keeps up last seasons form from now till the euros it would be insane not to take him. Also Shelvey "not good enough"
-
Can't really argue with his comment or Modric's yesterday, they're both right. We did bypass the midfield entirely yesterday playing shit football for the majority and Croatia picked us off at ease in the end. Modric's yesterday was also perfectly reasonable, the narrative was that Croatia would be knackered and our younger, fitter squad to have the better of them. Lol, it was exactly the opposite, they were fitter and more hungry than us. Not to mention more tactically organised. They're making accurate assessments of the game/their opposition, get owa it.

I'm sure he will become a very good player, he provided some great moments/games in such a short period of time. Genuinely looked class. Adiós Mikel, best of luck.

I think you're missing the point tbf. The point is that even when there's good news they find a way to suck the joy out of it and we know it leaves us in the same position 12 months down the line with his value probably increased. It's a good deal that should have been a great deal, but either way, at the moment, it's a deal that sees us standing still. Until we actually get someone in that's going to improve us, everyone's going to rightly looking at Fulham, West Ham etc and feeling pissed off that one of the most well backed clubs in the Premier League is yet again rummaging the bargain bin pretending that it's poor, we're fucking sick of it. I'm aware of all that, but personally I prefer to focus on what's good. Kenedy signing, albeit on loan is great. Many of us thought we wouldn't even get him back on that basis this season. The news won't be dampened by future what ifs for me. Plus how do we know we aren't going to be much better than West Ham & Fulham this season? As we were last. Signing £40m players in great, sure, but we have a fucking excellent little squad who with our manager steering them gave us some amazing times last season. I can't see any reason why we won't do that again or maybe even more.

You know that’s not what I’m saying man. We’ve just secured the services of a real fan favourite, a winger that harks back to the Ben Arfa, Robert, Ginola’s of NUFC’s past, yet all I can read is depressing comments. Let’s enjoy it, man.
-
Which tbf might have even been the case if we had bought him too. If we don’t actually spend the fees we get for our players then I’m not even sure it makes much of a difference whether we’ve bought or loaned him. I’m just really pleased he’s here for the full year. That’ll mean he’s been our player for at least a season and a half, given how talented he is that may have been the case even if we owned him. Let’s be happy, positivity really does make a massive difference as seen with the England run this past few weeks.

Would love to see the photos the photographer who got piled on by the Croatian players during the Mandzukic goal aftermath took. If he was ready they could be some iconic images.
-
It obviously was a bad decision not to take the best passer of the ball in the country, but tbf I'm not sure he would have made much of an impact in the tournament. Southgate had a clear plan (to his credit) and seemed undeterred. Dier replacing Henderson would have likely still been the preferred sub for better or worse. Delph next in line, so I won't sweat it too much. Shelvey, I imagine, will be watching from home even more motivated to show up his midfield national counterparts this season and ensure he's in that squad for the Euros.
-
Or you saw it on twitter. Nah. Heard it on TFS about a week ago.
-
Still proper looking forward to the final like. Can't wait to see Modric up against Kante. That's probably the two best midfielders in the world going toe-to-toe. Worthy of the stage.
-
I’d love to see Triggs drafts for this post "Haha you c***s", shit, nah, too far... "Howay Croatia" fuck sake, I can't say that either... "Hard luck lads" Fair play though
-
We were shit in the last few minutes there like and Croatia deserved to win. I couldn’t believe that Alli was more interested in scrapping with a Croatian player with 2 minutes of a World Cup semi final to go than he was in getting on with the game. Embarrassing from him. That said, huge postitives with Trippier, Maguire & Pickford who done all they could tbf.

Some of our bigger players haven't been good enough here mind. Henderson/Kane - not to target them, it's just true.
-
Or a better cross Aye Lingard didn't even look up. Feel like some of the players are shrinking under the pressure here a little. Have to be bold, Rashford coming on is spot on like.
