  1. Wonder if Jones will look to move Willock into the Almiron role with Fraser and Joelinton either side. It's obvious Gayle can't play any role in this system.
  2. 8.5 Gut instinct says we're finished.
  3. That's all she wrote, then. He is the most crucial player in our squad imo, absolutely instrumental in anything good we do.
  4. Herein lies the problem, we were that shit, we're now somewhat content with 30 minutes of decent football. Not good, good would mean we were 2-0 up on Saturday at half time. Our 'gloves off' record is worse than the previous 9-10 games. Get em back on Bruce you weasel.
  5. Any news on him? We will miss him even more than Saint-Maximin imo. He's been fucking brilliant and has made this system work. Without him we probably have to rethink.
  6. RIP Sad news this. Felt like he conducted himself in a very gentlemanly manner. I was just a teenager at the time but he sticks in my mind as someone admirable in the way he carried himself. Thoughts with his family.
  7. He's good when he's under pressure and has to play a one touch pass. Lewis dawdled on the left at one point in the first half, played it back to Willock who was marked and being closed down by another Wolves player and he played a lovely first touch pass to Almiron to get us out of a tight spot and into the final third. He's been decent.
  8. telling Jones to fuck off. When was this? It's just speculation. Personally I think they were both just moaning about something on field. I don't think he told him to fuck off.
  9. It was really good distribution tbh, textbook. And if it had gone to Saint Maximin or Almiron it would have set away a promising counter. Think Joelinton just got it stuck behind him, but regardless it's things like that which make him our number 1.
  10. Hayden hasn't been up to much in recent weeks tbh. Has a lot of credit in the bank I suppose but he's been really lacklustre when he's usually a solid contributor. Probably exhausted from carrying Shelvey on his back most of the season Perhaps, although Shelvey's defensive contribution today was head and shoulders above Hayden's. We need him to pick it up a bit for the next few games and rekindle his impact.
  11. Was one of those where if he saves it, it's an exceptional save and therefore shouldn't go down as a massive error. He would expect to do better I'm sure, and I get it because when a keeper gets down to it and it goes in it's easy to say it's his fault. Won us a point at the end with a save that barely makes any sense, so we should be applauding him really not criticising.

  13. Good question, because after that change there was a merry-go-round at right back. Took 5 minutes for them to organise themselves. And I say themselves because it clearly wasn't coming from the touchline.
  14. As impressive as that save was at the end, it's how vocal he was towards the end that is the main difference. He was going wild at the back line and then screaming at Shelvey "time, time" as the ball was cleared his direction. Glad to have him back.
  15. Wonderful from Saint Maximin to keep it alive and a good cross from Fraser.
  16. Lewis is just as bad as Krafth tbh and cost 3 times as much. I keep hearing that he's good going forward but needs to learn the defensive side of the game. He's not, he's absolutely terrible going forward, worse if anything, he does nothing. Stops so many attacks.
  17. looks like @ToonMouthTyne is a member on here Aye Twitter is so cringe. Seems like everyone who posts on football is just jockeying for some sort of 'in the know' status so they can become perceived as some kind of oracle. Clicked on that profile and a minute after line up was posted he said "6:53pm" and re-shared the comment regarding Dubravka in. Anyway, why am I even bothered I'm posting on a forum about it as if it matters. Yeah I find NUFC-related Twitter awful Aye! throw in the new brand of celebrity fans, their social media wars and more podcasts than points on there and it’s a right state. You're not wrong.

  19. I would prefer refereeing errors to be refereeing errors, and for them have to just take responsibility for it. As things are with VAR, refs just do any old shit and then stand about waiting for VAR to pick up the pieces. I'd argue it's reducing the standard of officiating which was already low. There he just gave the goal when he didn't have a clue what he had done and why he blew his whistle, had no intention of justifying his decision to the players who this impacts massively and instead just waited about for it to be corrected for him. Would much prefer the game to just accept the element of misjudgement and error, it's so shite watching players surrounding the referee asking them the question, crying about checking a monitor and they just stand about with their finger on their earpiece not saying a word. No accountability.
  20. Urgh. VAR has made refs even more passive. They just ignore players and stand about waiting for their job to be done for them. It's shite.
  21. Forgot who it was but I heard a City player see he struggles a lot with self-belief, and if he was to sort that out he would be a complete centre back and one of the best around. Looking like that now, first name on the team sheet for England tbh.
