Most would struggle to even get into the right positions man. Think people underestimate the pace of the game and actually how big the pitch is. Fitness levels of the pros are on another level. Also have to consider that IF, big if, you do make it into the 6 yard box in time, will you have the mental composure to finish? Doubt it.

I know, hence maybe that's the situations I'm recollecting keepers saving rather than a back pass from foot. Still feel I've seen a keeper tip wide a poor back pass before unpunished...

A discussion, if you know the facts surrounding it maybe join in rather than acting gobsmacked from the periphery cause somebody (me) doesn't know something for 100% certain.

I feel like I've seen keepers save bad back passes before with a hand, but maybe I'm thinking more in terms of mis-directed headers from corners or deflections etc.

True but I’m slightly worried about how Perez not playing exposes our midfield. Maybe less of an issue when Merino’s back, but still. Which is why I think a front 2 of Perez/Mitrovic is still worth a shot at some point. Gayle is probably the best finisher we have but Mitrovic's hold up play is very good - easily as good as Joselu's, and Perez defensive capabilities are quite important to us - especially in games against better opposition - which is most teams. I did like the look of Gayle/Joselu at times mind fwiw.
