  1. A chance for Murphy to step in and get his chance. Great this having depth in the squad thing. Whose bright idea was that? Genius, hope other teams don't twig onto it.
  2. We clearly have very differing ideas of the word 'mental' means. Someone offering a pretty tame, reasoned opinion about football on a football forum is hardly mental like
  3. Assuming he makes the same run, Gayle would have the pace over Matip to keep ground between them. As you say though, Gayle bundled in his fair share of 'ugly' goals last season too. I rank them at about the same level quality wise, but what Joselu seems to lack (albeit questionably) in finishing he makes up for in teamwork from deeper positions; where as Gayle stands and waits, ultimately contributing little in a defensive setup.
  4. He asked the question of them and got his reward with a deserved goal for the work he has put in for the team. Not sure why so many complaints regarding the lad. I am one who does prefer Mitrovic mostly for non-footballing reasons and more to do with his relationship with the supporters, but Joselu is a decent player to have and a good buy for the price. Certainly more useful to us than Gayle will be this season, not that I have anything against Dwight mind, it's just true.
  5. To be fair, if that's him on an off-day I'll take that. He still looked good in many moments and although he gave the ball away once or twice (Lascelles bollocked him mind) he didn't really put us in much danger. Was still an benefit to the team rather than a detriment.
  6. #justice4robbie He's doing well this season and deserves to be our No.1. Solid performer who I feel assured of in goal - probably more so than Krul even a few seasons back when he was in form.
  7. Excellent. I will help out if you need any designers for the flags etc. Give me a message on here if you're interested and we can exchange details.
  8. Good post. Shows how well we're doing as well as how astute Rafa's signings have been; it's hard to argue with any of that regarding our defence & Liverpool's. Would definitely prefer our back 4 and we have better cover than them coming off the bench in Lejeune & Mbemba.
  9. The first touch by Hendrick there is glorious.
  10. best* The pride of Gateshead. He's pure f****** poetry. Some of my favourites of his... "Messi so fast that he could follow you into a revolving door and come out first." "He understands the laws of physics, but they don't understand him"
  11. You are probably referring to Ray Hudson. The poet. The artist.
  12. Getting better every game. His attitude alone could see him become a very, very good player. His displays of passion & determination are second to none I have seen on a football pitch/for a club. Just brilliant.
  13. Ah, with that said I can make it out a bit clearer. "oh he's beautiful, magical. When he bursts down the wing, he's as fast as lightning, it's frightening *can't make this bit out*"
  14. Aye, someone must know, post them up! I recognise the tune as The Logical Song (Supertramp/Scooter). Sounds belting tbf, would love to hear that in the ground.
  15. Absolutely loving that, we're starting to feel like a united club again from the team to the terraces. Love the old Geordie gent at the end in the bottom left corner clapping the lads looking proud as out.
  16. You clearly didn't see the 4th then. Only one winner here.
  17. Klopp knows of Merino's quality and tried to stifle his play today. That consequently opened up play for Jonjo on occasion, where he was able to pick a pass without any pressure. For that reason I think their partnership might be a good one, especially at home, as teams will target one of them and leave the other to cause problems - which both certainly can.
  18. Enjoyed watching Jonjo today, composed, creative & disciplined. More of that and he wont be out of the team for that long again.
  19. F****** petulant behaviour from the ref. He's let his emotions make a decision there and not his rationality. The poor player didn't mean that one bit, ref throws his toys out the pram and abuses his power. No wonder some of them get so much stick.
  20. I'll take 1-1 at half time. I think we had some good spells in the first half and played some nice, expansive football with Shelvey spraying it out to Ritchie on numerous occasions. They're probably our two most dangerous players from an attacking perspective, so more of that and we can get something out of this.
  21. He's guaranteed his first away goal in england today. I'd take it quite personally tbh. ...but nah, usual vanishing act incoming, he's becoming quite the talented illusionist.
  22. Nice of Liverpool to start with 10 men. Still worry about Sturridge, loves a goal against us.
