From what I've seen, Gayle has been anonymous when coming on and doesn't look mentally or physically up for this league and more specifically a Rafa Benitez team in this league. He has literally zero, none of the required attributes to play as Rafa's centre forward in this 4-2-3-1. Love Gayle for his goals in getting us back in this league, but I reckon that's his level unfortunately. Joselu and Mitrovic considerably more effective, and given the formers poor form and general play, that's saying quite a lot.

For me, Gayle is out of the question due to his playing style and lack of physicality. So between Mitrovic and Joselu I'd say both have flaws, but Mitrovic is a better finisher without doubt, he can hold up the ball equally as well and is more confident. Therefore Mitrovic comfortably plays over Joselu for me. And I think if Mitrovic could follow instruction from the manager, Joselu wouldn't get a look in on current form. Oh, and Mitrovic has proved himself in the Premier League in his first season playing for a dreadful manager with a dreadful team. He scored 9. Joselu looks unlikely to reach 9 at present.

Would be painful to see him go to another English club as you just know he has it in him to score goals. He's better than Joselu & Gayle without a shadow of doubt in my mind. Shame.

Who cares man? -
He's obviously a bit tense, like the first day at a new job. The narrative around signing him and connections to the north east are probably adding to the pressure and what he thinks everybody expects of him. Once he loosens up a bit he will be fine, his game is taking players on and taking shots at goal. Him feeling tense takes away both of those things, or atleast makes them a lot harder. Just hope our fans give him the time and support he needs. Couldn't agree more with this. He looks completely devoid of confidence, that's all. Watching him for Norwich and England U21 he obviously has the talent that Rafa has seen he just needs time in the first XI. My prediction is he'll become the player we were expecting in the latter stages of this season. Yeah definitely, I'm not alarmed at all. He's probably just overthinking it a bit when he makes it onto the pitch, wanting to make an impression so much. As soon as he feels more comfortable and gets out of his head a bit, we'll start to see his talent come through and more fluidity return to his game. All it will take is one good appearance from him where he takes a player on or gets a good shot at goal and the confidence comes rushing back. Just need our fans to stick behind him, no moans or groans when he makes the inevitable errors!

He overhit and underhit simple passes all night giving the player receiving the ball less time on it, which is critical against pressing teams like Burnley. He gave the ball away stupidly at least two times, one nearly leading to a clear cut chance. Just those things alone are enough. Hayden, Shelvey & Merino are much sharper mentally, physically & technically. No reason for him to play, he's not good enough. I agree he shouldn't play. I just think we had much much bigger issues tonight Fair enough. I think our biggest problem tonight was players in certain key positions not being good enough. Diame was one of them. Joselu another. We were set up well, Shelvey was clearly the best player on the park but we need someone next to him to free him up, it's crucial. He's our most important player and can win games like this with the room. Diame isn't a good enough or assured enough player to free Shelvey up, Merino is brilliant at it, Hayden good at it.

He makes mistake after mistake man, clumsy as out, not switched on enough and not a confident passer. Can't afford to play him with such fine margins this season - not when we have 3 much, much better options.
-
As long as two out of Shelvey, Merino & Hayden are available Diame shouldn't play. He's too error-prone, slow and generally clumsy to offer what we need to win games and stay up this season. We play with such fine margins and he makes 2-3 errors every time he plays of which we will be made to pay more often than not.
-
Hardly fair to judge him based on 10 minute cameos here and there. It's a big step up from playing for Norwich, and give him time.
-
Don't think it's been that bad like. Atsu has had some great moments, and we're not being dominated by any means. Solid as ever at the back, Yedlin offering a good outlet at times and could be key. Joselu must do more, I'd be reluctant to throw Gayle on too early though as I think he offers next to nothing, and against Burnley's big centre backs he will likely be invisible.

Looks to me product of the New Town Act, so late 40's and throughout the 50's. There's a lot similar to it up and down the country but I find the one Altamullan posted particularly interesting with the staircase leading up to the two floors above the pub itself and that bit sticking out on the left hand side. Interesting design which I find quite beautiful tbh. Looks walking distance from Ancoats which is the area of Manchester I'm most familiar with, so I'm going to get there sometime and photograph it. They're obsessed knocking 'ugly' architecture like this down at the moment, so I'm experiencing and collecting as much imagery of them as I can. Can't help wondering what your lass looks like! Nowt wrong with loving architecture man.
