  1. Saying what? She said, and I quote: "Everything was going so well until I returned from the loo to find Mr Ashley - cheeks bloated - had ate the rest of my Peshwari Naan. I know it was only a £9 meal, but it's the principle, and I therefore do not wish to do any business with this man." A real shame.
  2. Dunno about IQ but it suggests the person's opinion is entirely based in form and physical evidence. IE. a player is playing bad and therefore must be bad. Which is obviously not the case when you take into account non-physical evidence like confidence & team mentality. It's smarter to not have your opinion change 'with the wind' and instead use a broader scope to base your perspective in. Pretty disingenuous really. It is very often the case that certain players can not make the transition from other leagues to the PL. I agree calling total garbage or whatever is OTT but there is legitimate concerns with him imo It's also very often the case that people are too quick to make the call on whether someone can make the transition or not. To do so after 10 games definitely is one of those cases, regardless of how bad you have perceived the player to be. There'll be hundreds, even thousands of cases where top players have looked poor for spells of ten games or more. I'm not saying people shouldn't have their opinions on how someone is playing at present, but to use that evidence to form any form of conclusive judgement is nearly always going to result in changing their mind further down the line. Imo, lots of people do this for the small victory of "see I knew it!". That doesn't seem like the greatest way to support a team or a player, we should be rooting for our lot until the evidence is overwhelming in favour of not good enough, Jack Colback for instance. Nah I get what you're saying, we just have to strike a balance. Personally I think he's been awful recently and there's a chance that his attributes will not make him a success in the PL. Hope I'm wrong Same here, I've seen a mixture of quality & clumsiness from him so far. I'm still positive that the latter will leave his game once he's settled to use the cliche phrase, and the quality - that is definitely there - will come to the forefront.
  3. West Ham and Palace both have fewer points than us. Point being, they can both raise their game and I'm not sure we can. What evidence are you basing that on, out of curiosity?
  4. Jose getting boosted on the sly The Portuguese are really miles ahead with their approach to drugs.

  7. He was playing on the left when he came on wasn’t he? I’ve got a s**** view, so might be wrong. He done his best work from the left when he came on, whether he was sent on to play there or not I'm not sure. What I do know is, in his time here so far he's played some of his best football on the left under Pardew & I think at times McClaren too.
  8. Fair enough, I still reckon Ben Arfa is the most gifted of the three, and if he worked as hard as the Given & Shearer did to reach their potential he would have been a world class player, alas he's 'wasted' his talent through non-application and an unprofessional attitude.
  9. Hasn't done Pickford any harm by the looks of it. He looks a very good keeper despite being in a struggling 11 his whole top flight career to date.
  10. Ben Arfa in the same sentence as Shearer and Given. Yes, because they're three of my favourite players. I said nothing of them being in the same calibre as eachother. Although fwiw Ben Arfa is the most talented of the three by a distance.
  11. Otamendi has been wonderful this season. MOTM there for me.
  12. I know what you're saying, but I'm glad we don't have Gray upfront, he's not very good. He actually has less goals than Joselu in the league this season.
  13. We need him, we wouldn't get a more game-changing player in his position for less than £25 million. He can win matches but first he needs to play matches. I want to see us revert back to 4231 with Gayle leading the line, and Shelvey really trying to make the most of his runs. I'd say we have about 5 players with match-winning quality in the whole squad and those are definitely two of them.
  14. Honestly for sentimental reasons I would love him to turn out in a Newcastle shirt at St James the same amount as I would love to see Shearer or Ben Arfa do the same. It would be incredible for me.
  15. Could be a possibility with new ownership that isn't as strict with the 25 and under policy. To be fair we've kind of ditched that in recent years. We've signed Gamez, D.Murphy, Gayle & Lejeune who were all 25 or older at the time I believe.
  16. Giroud is mint, but Arsenal fans will be gutted with that I reckon. They seem to take one step forward and two steps back often.
  17. I was thinking the same when watching the BT coverage. My favourite player ever being an aspiring goalkeeper in my youth.
  18. I appreciate the sentiment but this probably isn't the case. Opportunistic thieving little c***s. Nowt to do with my or the group I'm involved with but the same has applied to some of our missing flags. s*** heads will thieve and do so for a buzz. It's the law of averages. You may be right mate, suppose I was trying to offer what the innocent eventuality may have been but it just as easily could not have been so innocent. I hope they get returned by some honest supporters who realise their mistake On another note, I had an idea for a flag based on the 125 year anniversary, would this still be something you's would be interested in as a concept or was that just being done today as a one off thing?
  19. It's probably just a misunderstanding, fans were allowed to take home the flags provided by the club today on all seats, so stewards were allowing fans to leave with the flags. Just unfortunate they had fan-paid flags get mixed up with club provided ones.
  20. I disagree with some of the above comments like, I thought Perez looked really good when he came on, looked like he had genuine quality with some of his touches and flicks to find his teammates and worked very hard. Actually looked good on the left where Pardew used to play him quite a bit iirc.
  21. I'm amazed that things like that can happen like. Someone in the process of designing and printing that would have had the sole job of checking for spelling, that after the designer will have thought he/she had proofed it too. Just mental & hilarious that such a glaring error can go unnoticed. Wonder how many they sent to print
