Worth the money just to keep the greatest club in the world hanging.

Would you go to Mike Ashley’s SD over the club shop to save money? I’d rather pay not to walk through the door of those stinking shops who exploit their zero-hour contract , paid less than minimum wage staff. The man fucked us for 14 years so I’m overjoyed that we’re trying to fuck that fat prick over.

Yes. Shola thought it would be good for him to be with other Aussies to help with the language barrier

He was better than Bruce.

Maybe the 18,000 that really attend are eating the same as 38,000 normal people, so they base official attendance on crisp consumption?

Our owners have played a blinder here. Sucked it up and waited until the PL trod on its own land mine. Now the damage to “small clubs” is seen by everyone as unfair and that EPLFFP’s sole aim is really to keep the status quo for the PL six

When an out of sorts Longstaff is undroppable and Dummet is your subs bench you know the squad is fucked.

Eddie Howes obviously had input into the new shirt and created this monstrosity. #time4change

Howe’s fault we have 12 squad players out. Nobody else to blame obviously.

The takeover was always going to bring with it an element of fanbase with limited football knowledge wanting instant success. Nothing wrong with criticism when it’s due but to have a constant agenda of looking for negatives to build a case for replacing Howe just stinks. Have any of our resident naysayers ever put a viable replacement forward?

I heard the stadium expansion was the way forward first hand last year. No reason to think otherwise. 60,000+ is great for the city and the fans, despite some absolute dipsticks on here thinking it’s the end of the club’s ambition!

His saving grace was he was a shot-stopper. That’s no longer in his armoury so I can’t see what positives he brings to the team.

They always said expanding the stadium was the plan, a new stadium was never really mentioned . Why people are getting bent out of shape about not having a new stadium and then coming up with the current owners no longer giving a shit is baffling. Imagine even having these conversations a few years back when Ashley was spending big on council bins for ice baths etc? Self-entitlement is an awful trait.

I was shocked at the age demographic in the east stand. I’d say at least 60% are in the 50-80 bracket. Some absolute nacker behind me gave a running commentary on what he would be doing, “go long” being his favourite technique. He also left at 3-3. After a series of tackles at 2-3 the atmosphere was great, even the east stand gave out some raucous applause.

Potentially the best player I’ve seen in black and white since Beardsley. World class.

Didn’t that dangernonce once post a pic of him and his crew “taking” central station when they were off the Wembley for the Trafalgar Square playoffs? Conveniently forgetting that he had to travel to Newcastle to get to the capital.

First game of the season for me. My key takeaways: The East stand support is awful. Average age must be clicking on 70. The smell of piss is much stronger than any passion. We are so poor defensively through the middle, levels of Bruce era lack of understanding among the defence at times. Howe’ s approach seems to be cautionary these days. The number of times play slowed down from promising positions was frustrating. Longstaff needs dropped/rested. I’ve never seen a player so low on confidence keep being selected . Put the lad out of his misery Dubravkas positioning is woeful Until the triple substitution we would never have scored from open play. Howe had nothing other than attacking players to bring on and when that happened the game was transformed. An absolutely surreal end result from where we were before my the substitutions. How easy it is to get a pint in the labour club after the game. Very impressive. Unbelievable result from where we were prior to the triple sub. What a day.
