Has anyone in the media pulled up Southgate about his poor in game management? Not sure if it’s stubbornness or incompetence on his part because it’s a consistent problem and seems like it’ll continue to be.

I've never seen that before. Was surprised how very respectful Cole was there. I'll still view that decision with a mixture of anger, confusion and disappointment. It was ridiculous to sell him in his prime and even more so to a title rival. Funny to see that even back then the media somehow managed to squeeze in potshots and digs. Glad to see something's never change.

Mate of mine is a Man U fan and works for a financial services company in Manchester. Deals with a lot of Business Manager's of footballers. Asks one of them. "Where's is Chris Smalling going next season. Back to Roma?" He only response was. "I can tell you where he's not going. Newcastle" We must be in the doldrums this season in regards to transfers.

The thing that really annoys me at present. One shithouse journo be it Bird, Edwards or whoever else reports something without any source or proof and then the rest of the rags follow suit to 1. Get clicks and 2 Give the bollocks their writing some semblance of credence. Rinse and repeat for nearly 20 weeks.

The reaction both after the decision and after HT, when the stadium had gotten another look at half time was something else like. Never heard so much loud and sustained booing from the crowd because we knew it was a disgrace. It's actually got me fuming once again

I was down Whitley Bay as i believe it was a Bank holiday Monday and i was 17. So unfortunately i didn't see the full match. I can't believe how many empty pink seats there are for a Derby game. They really are a tinpot club. They're certainly where they belong at the moment.

Other than the Dutch 4-1 game. Where we were brilliant. I always felt we pretty much labored to the Semi's. Which is why Argentina in 98 always irks me because i genuinely think we'd haven given the Dutch & French a game. Also, I know he complimented Shearer well but with hindsight and knowing how they played together the following season. I always wonder how Ferdinand & Shearer would have worked at this tournament.

I'm sure that Paul White kid was a few years above me in high school. Always thought he'd turn out to be a nonce. So I'm not really surprised his Twitter reads like that tbh.
