Brentford 3-1 Newcastle United (09/11/25) | post-match from pg. 59

This whole team overall doesn't do the simple things well enough, Joelinton especially. How can we challenge? LOL we simply need better players and with PSR the transformation will take a while. Just need to manage our expectations in the meanwhile -

a typical Bruno shot from 25 yards -
you're right last time they won (or did not lose) at SJP before September was May 2023. SJP been a difficult place for them until this season.

why is this game so much more competitive than the Arsenal v us at St James lol

Great header but goalkeeper didn't react quickly enough and caught in his heels. Pope and probably Ramsdale too would most likely have saved that

Most likely only 1 change from vs Bilbao, Murphy for Gordon with Barnes on the left -
sounds like I have it way easier than you. I am just getting called a mackem or something like “glad I put the frog legs on ignore”, 😆😆

I was also very impressed with how good he was in his first 1-2 seasons here. He is still a great player no doubt with impressive performances here and there, though he seems to lose possession much more easily these days. And I have to say his creativity is quite overrated, and most here probably wanted us to sign a creative midfielder to take us to the next level (though Ramsey was probably a good option considering what was available). Regarding his stats in 23/24, yes they look impressive, and I agree he had a good season overall then (I remember 7 goals and 8 assists = 15 G/A while playing quite deep). But considering how much of a "go-to guy" he was for us offensively and defensively without Tonali, those stats probably made him look better he really was. As our main guy, his "usage rate" (a stat often used in the NBA) must be really high as he was involved pretty much in everything we did, and hence the stat lines could be flattering a bit. Eye test still supports that he was very good much of that season, and definitely in his first 12 months here. But I genuinely think he is a bit overrated by much of the NUFC fanbase and also by the media, especially when compared to other players like Gordon, Willock, Barnes and Osula who many here are quick to criticise after a few bad games.

Bruno isn't that good. You will likely struggle to recall more than 5 top performances over the last 6-12 months. He is a bit of an overrated passion merchant.
-
Just come back in one piece please 🙏

We need more players good on the ball like him in the team

Expecting a big performance tonight after Sunday’s horror show and the likes of Joelinton to prove their worth -

Give Pope, BDB, Thiaw, Bruno and Joelinton a rest Rams Tripps Schar Botman Hall Tonali Miley Ramsey Murphy Wolt Gordon -
Ramsey should start from now on. More quality on the ball, and decent off the ball too.
-
Bruno and Botman are both overrated imo

He is very overrated here. Judging by the comments, you would think he is becoming the next Beckenbauer. He is composed, often able to pick a good pass, and a fairly good defender overall. But he is not the dominant CB people are hyping him to be, and he seems to have a mistake in him.
-
We are so inconsistent. Few days ago vs Spurs gave one of the best performances this season, arguably the best. Then this absolute horseshit stuff
-
Glad I am just watching on TV. Imagine paying for the away ticket to watch this and the train fares (and worry about being stabbed)
-
Not good enough to be a regular starter
-
Joelinton keeps giving the ball away
-
Thiaw GOAT CB in the making
-
haha yes i meant lacking pace and power/explosiveness. But agree he has high degree of athleticism in attributes like stamina, durability/natural fitness, decent agility and strength. Obviously very good technical and mental attributes. One of our best players for sure 👍
-
sadly his athleticism remains one of his main weaknesses despite his incredible durability

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed

The most plausible explanation is that he is simply not good with his feet and probably never will be. Coaching/training can only improve him to an extent
