Totally agree. As Ive said before i gave up on football, lost interest in the club, even my profile here was deleted as it was never used. Its good to care again. We all want the best for the club but the new owners are not undoing 14 years of Ashley in a single transfer window.

If the club were still owned by Fat Mike then yes but we now have ambitious and fantastically wealthy owners. Will we play in the CL in the next 5 years? Maybe.

2nd half. Very calm and composed with the ball, doesnt panic. Lots of 1 touch passes, went route 1 twice. Seems to be deceptively good positionally and always offers himself for a pass. Good positioning might be why I havnt seen him sprint Think Im right in saying he doesnt go up for corners and is the last man. Very nearly provided an assist with a brilliant long ball and hurt himself with a great last ditch tackle in the closing stages. Finished 1-1.

So er... Lazs scouting report on the 1st half. Quiet first half mostly. Dont think Ive seen him sprint at all, he just sort of jogs around the right hand side of the central defensive area. When he tackles, he goes in STRONG though. Melee on the touchline at end of 1st half and our man wasnt involved nor did he get involved once it kicked off. Score is 1-1 - very good Valencia goal.

Easier said than done. Stripping Lascelles of captain might cause ructions in the squad and we dont know what, if any, promises Howe made to Lascelles about his captaincy. Last thing we need at the moment is a divided dressing room on top of all our other problems. I think Lascelles does have leadership skills, hes demonstrated them many times before, but yes, hes poor at the moment and needs to step up in terms of how he performs as a defender and as captain. I dont know, maybe Howe can persuade him to voluntarily give it to Trippier for the 'greater good'.

Theres probably an argument for Lascelles, Schar and Fede to be the partner tbh. Lascelles simply because hes captain. Schar because his ball playing ability might compliment Carlos's shithousery. Fede because hes got a bit of both. Howe will probably stick with Lascelles.
