  1. Arsenal's the only write-off and title nerves or title done factor could come in.
  2. forgot about this game, and football generally (it was bliss) until a moment ago, checked the score (well typed 'West Ham' in because I didn't know who they were playing) seen the score and the league table down the right hand side
  3. in exact situations like this too
  4. Lucky its only 2-0 the horrible bastards.
  5. A non-held back Man City, Villa and Newcastle would and did beat PSG. Oh well. Long as the media favourites get to participate instead its all good.
  6. We've just been beaten over two games by the mackems and played really poorly in doing so and scraped past Wolves over two games by a goal, lost over two games to Luton a few seasons back. There'll be teams around that caliber dotting around, Anything could happen. What will definitely happen is a negative effect domestically. Its also more advancing than adventure - towards a cup we should be winning whilst any defeat seen as embarrassing Cant see us finishing high enough in any case and such is football now, I wont mind that at all.
  7. We'd have to win the Conference League to even begin to justify the downside of being in it (negatively effecting the league, any hope of a CL challenge, risking heat on the manager thus). Should be winning it but it only takes one freak game or upset whilst we've plodded along midtable again. Like being in the UEFA under Sir Bobby. Absolutely brillaint obviously if we won it but getting dunked out in the semi-final - without that whole run we'd probably have made the CL again.
  8. Good, I and a lot of people have no interest in what any managers whose club has associations or sponsorships with any Middle Eastern country, China and beyond's thoughts are on human rights in every interview. As it should be.
  9. Deserves at least a bigger ovation than anybody either side of Shearer that we knew was leaving Its only that time and tide waits for no man and that the rules stopped him from being the first in a dynasty
  10. Besides which Brererton-Diver was already diving by the time any contact was made
  11. Aye, the first few were fine but After Eight or so it got too much
  12. Just cut to the chase and scrap qualifiers and call the whole thing the World Cup and have an entire continent host all the games.
  13. Yeah I've noticed even in debates the defenders of the rules (basically the cartel minus City and plus the cucks) have dropped all pretences and state its just about stopping certain clubs and ringfencing the elite du-jour Like a lot of rules there's always a Trojan Horse to force it through what are effectively stitch ups. 'Won't someone please think of the children'
  14. They'll be sold so we can hang on to a purple for another year before it comes to the point of actually playing for us. Modern football, what a joy.
  15. Don't think the 7 games will make much difference to the positive and only emphasise the negative if things don't pick up. We only lost one of the last 7 games of a dire 2000/01 season and played well in much of it, it took the edge off but didn't really alter the assessment of the season in the round. Cant see us doing either spectacularly well or spectacularly badly to alter anything. A chinwag was needed either way at seasons end about plans and whether they're compatible with what's available,
  16. What can be achieved at those clubs isn't the same as what can be achieved here. He'd really need to go to Villa to prove that.
  17. Brave new world where football fans cant even dream anymore. "Dad, will we ever be a top team" "no! son, the rules mean it cant happen no matter how good a manager or how rich an owner we have, the teams at the top now will be at the top forever" Disgusting what they've done really. Cant see ever rising ticket prices allied with having no hopes of going anywhere and the status quo being maintained for all eternity being very exciting, cost effective and good going forward.
  18. Wouldn't want Spurs to stay up if they gave me the job nevermind Hughton.
  19. I make it we got 10points out of the reverse fixtures Probably about the same again. Though only really fancy West Ham (they'll either be down by then or having to win), law of averages there'll be another win. Its the only game, possibly dick around with Fulham last day aside, that doesn't give off strong 'this will be shit' vibes.
  20. Hope he collides with Isak in the Cartelico next season and their rib cages become inseparably entangled
  21. Fine with selling. Despondent at the state of football and everyone being a farm territory for the ESL clubs- and worse not being able to change it now. Least we had hope that could change in the 80s.
