Well Keegan had no experience, Howe had only managed small clubs and that worked out fine, Hughton had never managed before and hit all objectives with us Dalglish had won leagues and cups as a manager including his last act as a manager before coming here, Gullit had won a cup just over a year before coming here and looked exactly like what we needed You don't know based on history who will work out and and who wont. Someone we've never heard of could be just the ticket or someone that looks ideal could be a complete bomb

All football fans are entitled by logic to not anticipate their team being way way below where it should be and was previously and be a bit upset about it and question those in charge when it is. Otherwise none of us would be upset and managers would never be under pressure.

Up until this season 4th and 5th was an overachievement and 7th aboout right This season on its own merits he's done a very poor job. Shouldn't really be debated. Done amazing to have the career he's had considering the footballing ability he's got. Its one thing to give a pass in what should be a period of growth to players not up to it but he's been here years too long already and kept so long its going to end on a sour note for all concerned.

The Bournemouth fans talk about how he was burned out after 5seasons there, only Eddie knows if he's conscious of that and the longer game of his career and the limitations were under its not unreasonable that he could walk but the only indications we've had are more tunnel visioned workaholism. Possibly the best thing is that he takes the foot of the gas for the remainder of this season, delegates to TIndall, Jones or whoever and recharges now. A refreshed Eddie would be as good as anything else.

Its one thing to lose twice to the mackems and maybe finish behind them, get hammered out of Europe and be generally poor to watch all season......but if we take the points off Forest and West Ham that keeps Spurs up...

It all stems from people taking Hopkinson's comments on reviewing the manager's performance at the end of the season the wrong way. When else would it be reviewed after 22minutes against Palace? Just always assumed managers performances were always reviewed at the end of a season, I'd be more uncomfortable if they weren't. Sir Bobby's were in lieu of his age and KK moved to DoF after 93/94.
