Looked warranted for Southampton on the stats (as encouraging as the result)

7points between 9th and 20th on this day in 95 (Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea all in there)

Used to always want the places miles away and/or the boringist stadiums to go down so cant complain with the bottom three, certainly the bottom two

Old Warlock on for a good result at Millwall

What is a 6 in a row is that this will be the 6th season in a row they've lost their top dogs honour but also finished below Middlesbrough. The sh1t of the north-east 6years in a row. Wonder if that's a first. Have to go back to the 1800s for the last time they finished ahead of us that much in a row not sure where we were in relation to Boro.

..and to make matters worse the weather is now rhiannon

Had 10' of that on before half-time whilst making a mug shot. For atmosphere watch, sounded like a friendly cricket match, not one chant, a ripple of applause, the low drone of chattering, a collective "come on" on one occasion and a ripple of half-arsed applause and half-arsed boos at half-time. You'd never think there was 48,000 there

Instead of begging them to go to games Niall Quinn should have just lied about the gates to Short and got him to subsidise them some more. Missed a trick there. Seen in the Bilbao thread our relationship with them is "apparently" - despite the first hand accounts and reports, video evidence, verification recently by both sets of fans, friendlies since, folklore and a documentary on Futbol Mundial about it. But some tenuous link to them from over a 100years ago is like soul-mates At best they're a lesser version of what Notts County are to Juventus because because at least Juve acknowledge Notts County.

..Robbie Keane, Klinsmann (via Monaco), Carbone for a 10 was decent, Bryan Roy, Dahlin Boksic when fit I imagine had a good record,

Lowest average was 16,500 in 90/91 wasn't? Which was about Sunderland's average from 1982 to 1997 (highest being 22 and the lowest 13) so more than a one-off (though they do like to invert exceptions and rules). They got just over 16,000 in the top flight in 1983 and not in a relegations season our 16k was in the lower reaches of D2. And, you've got to laugh, because there literally was a season long boycott. The supporters for change boycott from 89 until 91/92 when the old board, the point of the boycott, was replaced.

Can we not just have a designated singing area where standing up is allowed and encouraged. What difference is actually standing in the same place without the seat going to make?
-
Could bring back 'unsafe' standing and solve all our stadium related conundrums.

Spurs have punched their weight under Levy helped Villa shitting the bed (O'Neill spending fortunes on dross, no money, relegation), Leeds completely shitting the bed and Ashley ruining us deliberately. A lesser version of what Hall did for us but without the bed shittery of similar sized clubs and far higher starting point. A good job but not hand job job.
-
Spurs fans "crying out for some entertainment and fun" apparently. I'm reminded of a Spurs fan I knew who asked in 2018 "what has Ashley actually done wrong?"

Need CL money more than anybody else up there don't they?
-
Who'd have thought building a 'wall' like Dortmund wouldn't work on its own and might require some passionate support.
-
The thing with the CL gates under Sir Bobby is that you had to buy them in advance. Paying for three home tickets alone was nearly £120 and many of us applied for the away games too. Made me realise how expensive they were where a season ticket felt like a mandatory debit. Rangers had the same problem. You're not getting 44,000 against Hibs and a few days later 33,000 in the CL against Dortmund under normal circumstances. Also you want to have a look at some of Bayern, the Milan's, Real Madrid and Barcelona's champions league gates back then. That very season: Inter got 33k, 31k and 45k. Bayern 40k 59k 22k (and that was way up on previous years). Barcelona 62k and 42k A few year earlier Liverpool were getting 30k's.

Sitting in the padock, where I used to stand from early 90 to late 91, when the East Stand was shut for renovations during the Intertoto games reminded me why I'd stayed with the East Stand. But that's how football changed for you. The slope was always tricky from there, couldn't see the touchline on the other side, and it wasn't easy standing at the front of the Gallowgate either. But you didn't really go for the entertainment/football in those days, was just to support the team and win. My first two away games I didn't see jack shit but loved it.

They'd be lock solid in the play-offs if they hadn't had this idiot in charge for 13 games. Got to think any competent championship manager gets at least 3 wins more out of that, which would put them third and still chasing automatics. With the same players Corberan 12 wins in 19, Bruce 1 win in 13,

Wolves, top 4 hopes, must win, them in a relegation battle. If only we had two controversial wingers to switch as substitutes for the boo boys it would be 03/04 all over again. *full disclosure, I booed Viana and stand by that -
I imagine nowhere would be full without it baring in mind the kick-off times and shifts now. Don't think its the club being benevolent so much as that's the balancing act of how much their fans are generally willing to pay without losing them. Mine cost more than that in 1997 (£412)

Aye that'll be right. The season he scored about fifteen penalties, the smug c**t -
Did it myself, 99-00 after got hooked up with semi-pro football leant my ticket out for a season and a half. Its just in a stadium with seats available the people I leant it to could have paid for their own tickets and the club kept my money all the same. Plus the mackems would count me as attending anyway.
