You certainly couldn't say we got more than we deserved in any other game in the second half. I didn't think anything of the QPR h, Blackburn a games e.g. at the time but having watched them back we were so much the better team, QPR was one way traffic. Hendry said after we deserved to win more against them than we had against Liverpool. Overall I think Southampton and Man U away were fair kops (possibly West Ham a), though Schmeichel saved a one on one with his arse at 0-0, and Liverpool deserved a draw here. If we got what we deserved we win the league and if Man U got what they deserved they'd not have been in it. Seen them get totally dominated at ourselves, Leeds and Liverpool - never happened to us. We deserved more from both Chelsea cup ties, Forest a, Liverpool a, Blackburn a, Spurs a, Spurs h, Chelsea a was a sneaky free-kick iirc.

Weirdest thing is at my first two away games - mackems 91 and Derby 92 I seen about 3% of the game and absolutely loved it. The perspective then wasn't about a day out or entertainment just support really

Pie Noon. -
Think he's arguably the most under-rated player we've had I can think of, given he was very good at right-back 92/93, superb at centre-back 93/94 and excellent (international call ups, our player of the year) in centre midfield in 94/95.

That'll raise club spirits (Etc) -
I agree, Keegan did it with Kilcline but I can image Kilcline was much more of a 'locker room leader' and had experience to pass on compared to Lascelles.

If we were to create a Newcastle best games collection

Just watched that back this year, was a really good fast game, we were miles better in fairness. Howey was immense, prime flash in the pan Chris Sutton got about four touches. It'd be easier to list the games under Keegan that weren't really good. What were ordinary games then would blow people away now. -
Pointless explaining that Yemen and Saudi are not at war and half the people supporting his Yemeni club will be happy to have the Saudi lead a coalitions involvement. Reality aside, the joke will obviously be on us.

Remember him getting his own chant at Notts County in 93, nearly 30years later he was still here. -
Can see why Milan, epsecially Maldini were so keen. Veteran of the misely Cappello era.

Not glamorous opponents but Stoke away in 95. Its liquid. Great fast non-stop football from a team thats the sum of its parts with individual artistic licence Beardsley megging people all over the place, classic wingplay by Gillespie, Ginola tearing them to shreds. Oldham a 93 too, official birth of the entertainers, 5-a-side footballed them and Liverpool to death that month. There's just too many to pick from under KK. Spurs 6-1 in the cup under Sir Bobby flies by Is West Ham 95/96 has to be technically the best performance 41 shots on goal from 59' of play or something. Tino's assists and goal are f*cking sublime. -
Its not even a set number. It can change with outgoings and I'm sure the new regime will be flexible and adapt should someone become available. So not even the owners know really much less some journalist.

I know we could get ridiculous gates, but Man U could get 100k and Liverpool 70k for most games if they're going well, most big clubs grounds are full and we probably have to accept whatever the capacity there'll be games where people can't get in who would like to and not aim for that. Be ideal to have capacity extension in hand like Man City if and when its needed of course. Not having that is the conundrum I dont know how we deal with. It will be complicated and expensive to bring the Gallowgate up to Leazes height and remodel the East Stand to squeeze a couple extra thousand on that only to find that 58-62k is full 95% plus of the time too and find you've sold yourself short and back to square one.

Like finding an ancient burial ground that. Or more like the sarcophagus over Chernobyl given, I take it, thems the steps up past the open latrines. Stood there (the end) for the bulk of 89/90 and usually sentimental about things but wasn't too fussed when it was dug up, even less so now I know some remains.

What's the level like? I literallly haven't kicked a ball since 2005 but was formerly pretty tasty, still run rings round dogs with a mini one but don't want to wind up mortified
-
Think I'll just settle for extending the Gallowgate but slightly bigger than the Leazes and remodel the East Stand to be steeper, deeper or have an Olympic Gallery at the old Wembley type feature which must be possible for a few extra thousand and stick at 62-65k.

I hesitate to say 'bollocks to him' because we have a club that knows better for the first time in a very long time.
-
That fact that Mario Balotelli was deemed good enough to ever be at a PL winning club is the bit that's sounds the least true. Take away the erratic behaviour I find him a boringly average player.

Barcelona 97 for me, unless you mean rain-wise

Definitely, the roof was off by the start of 99/00 - famously or infamously in the downpour game.

Albert Arthur Moxey, alias Brendan Mulcahy (aka Francis Foggarty), arsonist and absconder

98/99 - Wimbledon was the first time I recall seeing poles preparing for the extension/roof off at the back of the Leazes Know it was a lot easier but pre extension pretty much rebuilding the whole ground for only the loss of half the capacity in the Gallowgate for half a season was some planning by the then regime I find looking back

Saudi Arabia, Holland and Philippe Albert's Belgium qualified for the 2nd round of the World Cup. Belgium should have beat Saudi but Weber missed plethora of chances, Owairan scored one of the best World Cup goals but didn't beat wor Philippe. Belgium 0-1 Saudi Arabia Morocco 1-2 Holland

By their own logic every player they've ever signed and the best players they've ever signed are shit because the big clubs never wanted them. And 90% of the time that would be the correct summation.
