Done that annual thing where they massively over-react to a couple good results and predict a glorious future upon them only to end up remaining shit have they? What amused me more than ths result was how I came about it. Read the Liverpool report (which never mentioned the score) so put the scores on and thought I'd scroll down the pages not knowing who was playing and there they were, the pride of the north east and team of the momenet, losing at Rotherham in not even upset (gets two sentences in my newspaper).

They often have been historically. The worst c**ts that have ever lived reasoned that they were doing good.

Hoing to away matches being amongst the away fans is not the best place to judge. Its too self contained. The best noise I heard at an away game was a testimonial at Rangers because it was coming from all sides whilst I've been to Wembley and heard next to nothing from 30,000 opposing fans because of where I was situated. Just watch games as a neutral and its clear there's no good atmosphere's anywhere by the standards some are expecting. Also the atmosphere tends to get worse the better you are becuase of the expectancy, it doesn't improve in tune with the club - Man City's s classic case Ridiculous to say this "the current home support must rank as the most sterile, boring and unimaginative in the country. " when Man City exists, for starters

The old Man United are back mind. Winning and often not all that impressively. Other team wasting chance after chance. Dodgy referees and ridiculous decisions.
-
That couldn't be less true of the two finals I've experienced us in. Was so run of the mill predictable it went right the way round from accepting we had no chance to being depressed about that being evidenced so readily without a hint of a Wimbledon, Luton, Wigan or fuck all.

Its ridiculous like. Multiple refs with the use of video technology, replays and the ability to communicate to the referee on the pitch and stuff like this still happens in their favour time and again. VAR certainly took the 'human error' out of such favourable decisions to the same teams I'll give it that.

Tino v West Ham 95/96, two sublime assists and a sublime goal and general all round entertainment

Its a myth anywhere is a good atmosphere now but somewhere still has to be the best. Watch other games as critically as you do ours and you'll see that. TAA today, Graham Potter, Marco Silva and radio Nottinghamshire that I know of have all said otherwise this season alone. Comparing it to how it was in the 90s is oranges and apples. Compare it to what else is out there now. You could apply the same to the football too or the meaningfulness of the league cup now v then if you really want to get depressed or live in the now maybe.

Think the rant about the remark about people leaving early was mostly about the result. Its been a hardy perennial and by no means just here, for thirty years now.

Were not going to finish top 4 but it was a bonus to be in there in the first place and would have been a pleasant surprise to maintain it.
-
It was sung in good faith but you'd have to have some ego on you to think it was appropriate. I'd never think to do that with the Blaydon Races at someone elses ground for a minutes silence for one of their former players.

Lack of goals is by far our biggest problem. We've struggled all season to get the goals we've deserved for play and chances created. Didn't think Wilson would be engulfed in it like Wood but he only is.
-
Feel like we've more momentum from this than we'd have had if the final was tomorrow after Bournemouth/West Ham.
-
Would have snapped hands off for this after 20minutes. Was totally thinking that farce under Pardew
-
You know, how much weaker are we than we were in 3rd at the turn of the year and everyone happy? Probably not at all. We've injuries and our best player suspended otherwise there'd be no difference. I presume the biggest plaintiffs also slaughtered Wood mercilessly.
-
Absolutely. Cant ask anymore with the game gone than an encouraging performance of character. Not comparable to Derby in 92 with eight men - but I like to think since we won the next thirteen games something can be gotten out of this

Earning a start next week with attitude alone.

January/February results in the fondly remembered promotion season of 92/93 under Keegan. West Ham a 0-0, Bristol Rovers h 0-0, Portsmouth a 2-0, Southend a 1-1, Luton a 1-1, Rotherham cup a 1-1 January/February results in the Entertainers season of 93/94 under Keegan Wimbledon a 4-2, Luton h cup 1-1, Luton a cup 2-0, Blackburn a 1-0, Southampton h 1-2 (and I think that was all consecutive)

Exceptions and rules. He's lost two league games. Think the others more than balance that out and afford him a little credit.
-
They were fine until a goal against the run of play ffs
-
Were down to 10men and were all over them until they scored.

Actually thought our best chance of winning the final was penalties and Pope. Oh well. Didn't think we'd win today or next week but fair to say I never envisaged it could go this bad.
