Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
Wolfcastle replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
The team spirit is immense, Howe and his team have fostered that and he's not once been able to put his best team out. No ASM, Trippier, Feddy, Wilson or Joelinton tonight ffs. -
Its not an attack on Yemen as you well know. Its a civil war with the Arab world backing one side and Iran the other bit like we did in Yugoslavia. Its a bad enough situation and speaks for itself so why misrepresent it or bring race into it
-
Don't think Richarlison is the kind of c**t we'd be interested in if the last window is anything to go by. Good team personalities. An under-rated commodity perhaps considering it was something Keegan looked for and that worked out pretty well.
-
Fun fact, if the score stays the same, they've lost more in the 3rd division than we have in the PL.
-
Noticed Leazes terrace getting free views there. Let them off with the bill if they sacrifice a bit of light
-
Eyeth I think you'll find.

Had a look at the games of those below us for the first time, wouldn't dare do ours, not factoring in our games against some of them I've got 10points keeping us above at least three of them. And that's with giving Leeds 16 and Burney 16+ whatever they get against us which some might see as generous.
-
If we avoid defeat to them, it would take an illogical mackem-esque escape for them to finish above us, so logically we'd be safe.
-
Not got good fixtures which is reassuring. Wolves at home next is about their best chance until Brentford at home and that's the penultimate game. Maybe Watford away but otherwise Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Liverpool, Man United and Leicester.
-
They've had a few last day escapes, I don't hold out much hope for relegation for them, just finish below us and we'll go again
-
Of course, Marco highlighted this on total sport the other week "I played for the club in the premier league, well top flight, clubs invariably got their biggest gate of the season against us because of our away support" literally happened once in the top-flight (big relegation game against Man City) and once the year before - against us. but

I haven't watched it back but Les missing two one on one's (iirc) and skying a shot with the goal gaping from 8yards is clear-cut to me. More so than shanking a shot into the ground and it bobbling in like them cunts. They got battered. Even their players....even Bruce!! concedes that
-
Just seen Charlton got 13,000 against these on Saturday for their cup final. Below their average, more than 10k less than they got for Cambridge, half what they got for Ipswich and in fact one of their lowest gates. Imagine getting off on being 'everyone's cup final' in the third division, but actually not being anything of the sort.

Newcastle United 2 - 1 Brighton & Hove Albion (05/03/2022)
Wolfcastle replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
They're a decent team, possession is their game - perhaps to a fault, bit of a bogey-team (almost always wretched games), they should be the better team having been run well for years and were favourites, plus our position/need - really wasn't bothered about the performance or lack of ball. Its not a case of not boding well because the trend is up regardless. That our defence is getting proper battle-tested and standing up to it, is kinda reassuring. -
On the Abramovich thread "Every club has their thick shit wankers. The irony is that they will no doubt all be BNP/UKIP style voters as well." no self-awareness you say?
-
Not biting, ah sod it I will. Remember the first time the big flags got around the whole ground against Liverpool? Got f*cked up in the Gallowgate end and ripped. Watched on from my East Stand seat in horror thinking 'amateurs! did they learn nothing from gawking at us in envy for a year with the big flag?"
-
Hard to believe it wasnt so long ago we were having an owner sell off the land and finish expansion plans and the council going along with it. Its hard to believe this turn around sometimes.

Around this time of year during our survival act under Keegan, they came here as relegation rivals and won. In other words, to quote Mr Wolf (i think from the direct line advert) "lets not start sucking each others d1cks just yet" More for the fans than team because I think the manager will be stressing a lack of complacency. Also I hardly ever predict/fancy us to win. -
Wont be as photogenic but think we could scrape in the Leazes/East Stand corner for about 2k extra too, since there would be no loss of light that isn't lost already and there's a bit of paving space there to accomodate it
-
Martin Samuel reckons all Abramovic has done wrong is keep bad company but the way we treat Bruce at that one game was disgraceful just happened to support that bad company and that bad company has taken the world the closest to WW3 its ever been and the closest to nuclear war since 1961 but how about them 'we want Brucie out' chants that one time!?
-
They were. I'd say they were Boro to everyone outside the North-East to everyone outside of London an absolute nothing game. Small away following, regular 15k and under gates in the top-flight (including 16k aas recently as 96 against Man City with Gullit), 15k being a good gate the last time they were in the 2nd tier in 89. One title, one cup in their history.

Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)
Wolfcastle replied to David Edgar's topic in Football
Bruce literally went on vacation during a season whilst employed and paid heftily by the club. Howe in his own time and at his own expense travelled Europe learning coaching techniques. Even if it didn't work out, can't fault that attiutde and effort. Its Bruce's sheer laze that gets up my chuff the most I think. Ungrateful c**t. He can't even be bothered to look busy and pretend he's doing something for all that money. -
I am biased. but I'd honestly say East Stand. Getting a view of not from the Milburn/Leazes vastness is quite a moment first time around and is obviously a good view, or at least front row of the top tier where I was is. I've sat in the Gallowgate corner, Milburn paddock and Leazes since redevelopment and the views were not as good if you're after views. But then my first games entrenched in the Paddock/Gallowgate were hard to follow the games, not that it mattered. Saw nowt at my first away games and loved every moment of it.
