I've sort of been there man. Won the world cup in 2006 and got an NUFC takeover a year later. Wish I'd completely retired from this s**t after the first one.

Amanda would make a fine She-Ra and I'd like to see the mock up of that image.

The Managerial Merry Go Roundâ„¢ - Ancelotti to Brazil

I don't know if its true now, wouldn't be surprised it is but am surprised anybody would be surprised at the concept that there are clubs we should be competing with and out-competing, many by every measure, but simply opt not to bother - Wolves, Leeds, Villa, Everton, West Ham, Spurs (pre Ashley damage), It certainly was the case pre Ashley re Everton but all the damage he's done to our standing and all the cooked books and misdirected funding is all that makes it questionable now. -
No doubts they're the best since 2005 and two of the best ever and nobody else can touch them in this generation (or the next). Maradona was better than all of them for me. If were talking 'ever'.

Ability wise Ronaldo isn't even the best Ronaldo ever.

Didn't see it but on seeing Bale today and against Italy maybe its more of a suggestion or plea than a question, he was shocking.

Why not a Denmark (92)? started badly there too. Probably not for me though, they're just decent (and Wales lifting)

Fantasising about an Escape From New York scenario now... Escape From Newcastle

They'll still all be better prepared and get business concluded quicker than us, for all this f*ckwittery. There's f*ckwittery and there's not trying. -
Maybe just a flashback, we used to have that many people queuing to buy the bloody home shirt

Will runway with that league, yet again, I reckon

Probably because plundering a sport and football club for 15years and getting away with it is basically a licence to print money

Impressed with our tastiness, and inventinveness albeit not playing against much. Still don't think we'll win it but Mancini's winning me over now - felt anybody could have bludgeoned their way to the title with Man City with that outlay but this is decent. Had to get it off my chest.

Group D (Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Scotland)
Wolfcastle replied to Big River's topic in Football
I don't think there's a good team in this tournament in the context of previous eras so I wouldn't rule it out. My preferred team is the team of the tournament so far and its easily one of the worst Italy teams anyone's ever seen. -

Actually glad. Some prick over the estate's been bellowing three lions all day, in an example of general ridiculous carried-awayness that goes with any England game won in a tournament - until the match when its been really quiet. Glory hunting 101 that's hard to associate with, just personally mind. Was asking to be made a c**t of and was. -
Commentary aside, I find the bare-bones coverage refreshing. Feed-coverage from the home broadcaster, no studio, analysis. Match, match stats over the live feed images (pre pandemic) with camera panning sections of the stadium in the background - reminds me of how I took in Eurosport during some tournaments in the 90s and how superfluous punditry seems. Works without it at a live match and it makes taking in televised matches feel like a more lived in experience. Especially since BBC/ITV don't go into any Andy Gray style depth anyway. Fills the gap to the next half-hour regularly scheduled programming and is a bit of leech industry to me. On the other hand Eilidh Barbour.

Or Washington Nissan factory as it was known for years after its inception until they got so insecure about that they had it changed, yet graciously let the wildfowl park over the road, further south and closer to Sunderland remain in Washington. Not so much asserting relevancy as letting the baby have its bottle https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fc8.alamy.com%2Fcomp%2FB4XF8J%2Fmargaret-thatcher-visits-the-nissan-car-factory-in-washington-with-B4XF8J.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.alamy.com%2Fstock-photo-margaret-thatcher-visits-the-nissan-car-factory-in-washington-with-20251746.html&tbnid=jNKJ-cU7VBCVAM&vet=12ahUKEwi8oMr15pLxAhVU_4UKHQGeBiIQMygAegQIARAq..i&docid=gouVx_28CPbjBM&w=1300&h=1123&itg=1&q=washington-nissan thatcher&ved=2ahUKEwi8oMr15pLxAhVU_4UKHQGeBiIQMygAegQIARAq

Behaving needy, desperate, sad and displaying an inferiority complex would ordinarily reflect anything but relevance but it truly reflects theirs

16/06/21 09.01 - Bruce to affably present it as a hard start (whoever were up against) implying he can't catch a break - so anything we get is a bonus (whoever were up against) and 'didn't I do well' (however we come out of it). Feels like just one long 90/91 since Ashley's been here, only knowing for certain we're not making the play-off's all the way through it.

Possibly the clubs that had nothing to do with it will get punished more than these clubs because they're allowed to continue to hoover up whatever they please and no doubt will be assuaged in some way. Probably no club more so than us. Top work PL's crack-team of regulators
