The usual clubs with the best interests of the game at heart. Though with these rules there is no need (if there ever was) for parachute payments. Shame the relegation candidates didn't make life more difficult for the red clubs and Spurs in kind. Scorpion and the frog.

Can't see the ffp rules helping with atmosphere here or anywhere else. Big part of it is the hope of a journey towards better times, or the fear of losing status. If neither of those things is possible, especially with the newer fan mentality, how passionate can they be about a game against Wolves that likely means nothing beyond the head to head.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
Wolfcastle replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
And 2000/01 was barbaric if were talking about performances. There was nothing to indicate what was to come in the next three years. -
What a grim dreamless aspirationless unchanging cavalcade of a future. Can't see this being good for the paying fans with that basically being the clubs well. And how it's fair given the desparity in regional economies is something that needs explained. Even though they're the same size the Mackems can now never compete with West Ham. Fair as fuck that.

I've no compulsion to slaughter him or Dubravka only on the proviso they're not here next season, they've done their time, tried but not good enough not by a long chalk and its getting longer by the game.

Chelsea 3-2 Newcastle United (11/03/24) | Reaction: pg 45

With what exactly? We've got one forward, cant bring anyone in now, couldn't anyway because both our hands are tied behind our backs, we have half a squad of players inherited from a joke of an era including wingers that cant cross, sloths in midfield and nothing on the bench to change anything with. Is it just somehow play like the entertainers or Liverpool/City regardless of all that? -

Like the Forest game. I'm sure 3-2's used to be good. -

Whoever he brings on you'll just call worse than shite -
Did a bit of checking a while back and found in the last 100years (since the 20s) Boro have finished above Sunderland more than Sunderland have finished above Boro. By every distinction other than crowds they've been the 3rd team in the north-east for half a century. And crowds don't count when it comes to us.

Monday Night Football is the early kick-off on Saturday of un-entertaining matches. Was fun up until 98/99 so don't know what's happened. Needs sacking off. -

Was it bad management when Keegan had an injury crisis that derailed our season too? Shearer, Dyer, Cort, Woodgate under Sir Bobby we must never have had a good manager -
If none of it goes towards paying off some of their debt or covering losses they usually incur

They've been capitulating of late. Beaten at home by Boro and QPR.

Blackburn raised their game against us a tad apparently

The beautiful game.

Those were the sort of games Allardyce was supposed to win with his brutalist fashion. Was literally no point having him and his dreck football if we weren't going to boringly but systematically beat Derby's.

What if...? Biggest Sliding Doors Moments for NUFC
Wolfcastle replied to kingxlnc's topic in Football
Small one compared to some, but Kevin Scott being suspended for a red-card the previous season leading to Steve Howey playing centre-back and going on to play for England there and come close to several honours with us. -
Wonder if Man United actually play well one of these days they'd get beat, masters of undeserved results the c*nts
-
Outrageous that Liverpool shit mind. Not remotely surprising though.

Lost all their silly little clutching at straws cups now. The not been sports washed we'd never sell out cup, top dogs or last win (delete as applicable) award and now the friendly cup. Still they at least have the 6 in a row and a couple of draws but in a slightly different order to the one we had 2001-2008 and never gave a second thought to cup.

Bench behaving like pricks before the goal. How unlike Klopp when not getting entirely his own way
