  1. Can't see a way it doesn't make football a lot more boring in time when everyone learns their place and realises they're stuck with it as a rule. Even not having to worry about being overhauled will be nullifying. No more venting at clubs for not showing more ambition - because they can't. Basically I guess it's imagine a PL without Blackburn, Chelsea and Man City being financed, Leeds for better and worse under/after Ridsdale, Boro's over extracagance, Shearer coming home, where Ashley's are encouraged.
  2. Aye he'll be back to despised fraud again and the poor fellas wart will become focused in on and back to second head status. About average gate but their lowest gate this year. Thought they had great away support (this fixture last year) and Netflix was supposed to make them massive.

Makes sense I suppose in the post ffp/fun wastelands. What it would cost us to replace a versatile enough defender would come out of the ffp hobbled kitty and nobody would be happy with that.
  4. Not sure how this effects Rochdale and the like, not remotely would be my guess, but I know who these new rules benefit and hinder as Man City and Newcastle lose top execs to Man United. Yep, didn't see that coming a hundred million miles off.
  5. Our gates receipts were higher 30years ago than theirs are now based on my first adult season ticket in 95/96 our income will have been 612k. The previous two seasons are unlikely to have been 30% less. If their figures were caveated with that and the acceptance that their match day income is a third of Leeds and as such they can't compete it'd be more tolerable for all. Hiding empty seats, lying about gates, zooming in on the playing area, having the camera avoid all the empty seats. KLD must have had a chinwag with Tony Khan when they played Fulham last season.
  6. Cannot let things like that that actually happened (Bilbao) or having played Plymouth four times in the last 33years get in the way of, apparently, a Plymouth fan having enough experience to formulate an irrefutable view on Newcastle fans that hasn't wavered in 14years. They're the masters at claiming the most pathetic victories mind. Living vicariously through Pickford and Henderson, having a player whose brother is really good, a sequence of wins hitherto never counted and real or otherwise fans of other clubs we have barely played and have zero connection with not liking us. The only point any of that proves is how tragic they are.
  7. The stunning lack of matchday revenue compared to those sides is your problem.(Southampton 842k, Leeds 1.2m, Leicester 589k Mackems 413k)
  8. There it is. This weeks first 'were shit' generalisation based on the first slight setback in the match
  9. Usually a fixture that produces a forgettable game and/or being frustrated out of the win by foul play or bad luck.
  10. Possibly the trauma of playing under Dalglish and going for draws every game manifesting.
  11. Yeah wasn't many seating arrangements behind the goal in those days so that was tidy. From the old footage I see that was the away end and the bit of concrete opposite the home end. Welcoming but odd. Glad to hear it's still hanging on. Think a railway line goes under the main stand, right past it at least.
  12. Yeah you could tell he was milking the moment, being a rare appearance for him. Had some keeping entertainment that season between him Schmeihcel and Vinnie Jones.
  13. Their keeper (Les Sealey) was legit exhausted at the end.
  14. Foreign divers: filthy weasels playing their dirty underhanded game Beckham/Owens diving all over for England then by association their clubs: professionalism
  15. Think I heard or read it mentioned at 150m. Don't know if that's based on now or next seasons projections or just as example.
  16. I know. Until Keegan as manager they'd been better than us for 10years and we were getting turned over at home by worse than Luton in a lower division. Even with KK honours were even. That performance and game was awful, last 15' aside it could have been the worst in 5yr. If we won against Luton it would have appeared over less cracks than that.
  17. Wonder if those of us that fired off emails to the PL during the whole protracted takeover palaver have dossiers on them. Mine was clean but had a few pops in it. Seems weird how it's deployed. How would Rangers/Celtic be policed and what of the makems that troll every post from someone at our club.
  18. The lack of mobility between the leagues strikes the same chord. The PL/Division1 was behind Germany, Italy and Spain until the late 90s. PL shouldn't have its status protected just as Liverpool, Spurs etc shouldn't. Keeping everything as it is now is a c**ts trick especially in sport given most of those in the ascendency once werent and would have complained the most had things locked them out.
  19. Its been pointed out before but it doesn't allow for certain parts of the country nevermind Europe being more wealthy than others so of course they can charge more per attendee and ultimately have bigger turnovers from which to spend more money. That's the case anyway but this enshrines it. I'm alluded by the fairness in that and I'm actually thinking about Sunderland here compare to say a Fulham when in essence the point at times with all this has attempted to benefit the bigger club/fanbase wise.
  20. Silage that. The main reason why the clubs/fans/owners that are happy with this tells the story. The only reason all the clubs at the top except Arsenal are there is because of the transience they're trying to eliminate. Making it a cavalcade. We'd never have been relegated from Division1 even with the ownership we had much less head towards Division3 and likewise we'd never have gone from fighting relegation to Division3 to nearly winning the league a few years later. Is it really more fun just to have made up the numbers in the top division instead of that? The self appointed right to say when the music stops is garish, taking their ball and going home. If these had been the rules from the start, and why not, the same still applies, Arsenal would be the only team at the top now that would have been at the top. The idea its to protect the small clubs I cant believe can be said with a straight face when since the notion of the Premier League frothed about in the late 80s that's been the last of their considerations, but it helps colour stuff like this.
  21. The Twattle they should call it
  22. Perhaps defer to the clubs if its too close to call. Arteta gives Klopp much more of a run for money in the cunt stakes than Arsenal give Liverpool.
  23. No. A pretty routine save pushed right into the danger zone is up there with leaving the near post unguarded in terms of poor goalkeeping. Expect it will be pointed out in the reviews/commentaries.
  24. That's a great description. Was going to say he added to the chaos but that's spot on. Players either did or at least felt like they had his number.
